Wasn't it announced ages ago that as soon as Shaw turns 18 he's committing to a really long term contract? Pretty sure the club announced it to counter just this sort of speculation, everyone calm down.

There is a big difference between selling, Walcot, Bale and Chamberlain to the situation we may have with Shaw. That is PL football.
The three of them wanted to play in the PL as soon as there was the opportunity to do so and it wasn't going to be anytime soon with Saints. Now we can guarantee PL football for a year at the very least, that is a big motivation for players to come here and as we have seen with Lallana, morgan etc a massive reason to stay and sign a longer contract.
If Shaw goes it will be on our terms and a better deal for us than when Ox went. Saints are in a win win situation.

I think most are speaking hypothetically, personally I'm confident he'll stay but if he's set on going and we get a good sum for him I wouldn't be too gutted. As a club we are growing fast, but as a player Shaw is growing even faster.
Of course I'm talking hypothetically. Just saying potential reasons why I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave. FWIW I actually think he is more likely to stay, but not 100% he will like some are.

He will stay, we are all in for a exciting time with Saints and Shaw will be with us for the ride.

So NC has been promised 30 mil, but surely this is not enough. We have been linked with CB, CM and a forward who will all be in the margin of 10-12 mil, and we need all 3 areas covered plus maybe some bargains around the 2 mil mark pushes it upto around 40 mil. Hope NC managed to wangle around 40 mil out of the owners.
Add to that the fact he's just banged in hat-trick against United. If he was sold It'd probably go for twice as much as we'd get for Shaw.
They wouldn't, obviously. I doubt he's been promised any solid figure, with how many transfers are installment based these days - it's not like FM.
If they are serious when they talk about qualifying for the champions league the budget must be nearer £60m!
