JayRod seems to be heading in that direction. I believe he will be our key man next season.

He needs to clean off his shooting boots if he is to fulfil his potential. He had a similar chance to Bale in the Spurs game, easier actually, but he declined the shot and passed it on. If only he could add a bit of Lambert to his game.

I agree; plenty of room for improvement, yet I think he is progressing nicely. I am liking the way he is looking to beat his man when he finds himself wide and beyond the half way line.

Does anyone ever think he Will have the power of Lambert in his shot? This is one of Rickies key assets when it comes to scoring. Not sure I've ever seen a player with that power (+accuracy).

Pardew remarked, when he signed Lambert, that there was no player with a more powerful shot than him in the country. Time to score on Sunday, Rickie.

Probably not, but as Brian Clough once said, "You don't have to break the back of the net to score."

Whilst true, it helps to have a shot so hard that defenders can't react. Nothing like a keeper's despairing dive as the ball goes past with a sonic boom.

It sometimes helps. Messi must be one of the best finishers around and he seems to go for accuracy or delicacy as often as pace or power.

He would be good cover for Clyne/Shaw as Clyne could be moved over to left back. We do need at least 1 full back in the transfer window.

Not quite sure that I'd drop 5m for one, though. Ronnie Stam is, best I'm aware, on a free this summer; he'd make for sufficient cover.

What's the point of a link? All it would be is one sentence that goes into less detail than what DTLW posted. <laugh>

I'd take Boyce as well, starts ahead of Stam and can play centre back right back or left back. Decent versatile reserve player.

It does at least verify that he wasn't just making it up himself (not that many of the places you'd link to are particularly more trustworthy but you know...)
