That's one view. Mine is different and makes sense to me, given the circumstances in which I formed it. I have an unashamed soft spot for Crystal Palace. My late maternal granddad was a SE London man and Palace stalwart. Of course I'd always back QPR over Palace when the two meet. Otherwise, though, I will always associate the south London side with the most decent man I ever knew and his love for his club. It pleases me to see them do well and pains me a little when they don't.
Spot on Flyer. I kind of understand why the wages are held back from public knowledge (wouldnt really want my wages being public knowledge), but they could easily come up with a system that indicates what pay bracket a player falls into or something.
Always hate seeing the undisc. fees that seem to be more and more popular these days as well. These never used to be around so much back when I was a kid I'm sure!
It's bound to happen given how the game has gone since the Premiership started.
Jack Walker was accused of buying the title but it wasn't until Abramovich threw billions at Chelskum that most other club supporters openly disliked what was happening to football. QPR were technically the richest club in the world when The Goons took over and brought the Mittal fortunes into the mix. Not that much cash got thrown our way but until Man Citeh were taken over by Sheikh Mansoor we were the richest club on paper.
It's easy to see why we would be disliked but I think it is more than simple jealousy. There are some huge clubs out there who are still owned by a single wealthy chairman and do things "the right way" rather than getting into massive debt (MASSIVE Leeds?) or selling out to an oil tycoon or Far Eastern conglomorate. Can't say that many of them are in the Premiership though.
Let's face it, we tried to run the club the old fashioned way and nearly went into administration for a second time, no wonder we sold up to Briatore when he offered to get involved.
It doesn't all have to be about money. When us, Norwich and Swansea got promoted we were the three best football playing teams in the Championship but without TF bankrolling all these new signings we'd have dropped back down like a stone. Getting there is only half of the battle, being able to compete to stay there is just as hard to manage and takes constant investment.
The money involved is grubby and not quite British, it smacks of vulgarity and open capitalism but the Premiership is a victim of it's own making. The deal was done with the devil and Sky are now calling the shots so expect this sort of nonsense to continue for a long while. Don't worry, I'm sure the next Russian oligarch to come along and snap up another small club with ambitions of Champions League football will divert the attention of the haters away from little old QPR.

The hatred for QPR on Twitter is ELECTRIC, litterally every other fan thinks we will get relegated...or they hate us...or we will go bankrupt.....I absolutely LOVE IT!

you guys obvious have high expectations for the future and with the names being brought in i can understand why.
having a "sheik light" means that there is obvious alot of buzz about QPR atm, and although its not the fans fault the prospect of QPR getting religated or going under when the owners don't get the results they wish for is what people want to see. lets be fair atm your far from a sustainable club unless your paying 4x's as much of the rest of us for shirts and tickets, if you did get religated what would become of QPR? would the owners throw their toys out of the pram and say they don't want to play anymore? if it is the case you may become pompey mark 2 to the joy of the masses.
As a fan from another small premiership side, i wish you well for the survial battle ahead. after the 5th game of the season is where the chance to get some more points should come for you guys imo

Tony Fernandes and Co said they wouldnt leave QPR if we got relegated.....they put their money where their mouths are and with the Mittals we have one of the richest owners in the world.
Pompey didnt have any kind of future plan.....they just bought players to try and win the FA cup and then the owners couldnt sustain it.
We have a plan....we are growing our fanbase in places like Asia.....we have a plan to build a bigger stadium in one of the Biggest most fashionable Cities in the world so our target audience is huge, unlike Pompey (no disrespect)...so we will grow.

No offence mate but as you say it's 'IF' we get relegated will the owners do this, that or the other.......Its a bit like me saying 'IF' i win the lottery tommorow what would a spend it on.

QPR also signed a deal recently with a sponsor for our training kit - only the second PL club to do so - the other being a certain Man Utd.
That in itself shows where we are trying to go - create a global brand.
I have every confidence in TF to continue to do as he has said he will do. But as the Swansea fan said, lets be cautious - things can go wrong. Look at Malaga in Spain.

If we are hated, it means we are doing something right, and something other clubs fans can only dream of doing. In fact the Man. Utd. syndrome, everyone hates them because they are successful!
