Hmm, I suggest you see a shrink, get rid of your inner demons first. Alternately buy Spurs 30 years of trophies and sleep soundly.I have high blood pressure and get a “beat” or a swoosh in my ear which was keeping me up awake most nights. Doctor said to play background music or listen to a podcast.
so got myself some wireless AirPods and created various playlists to listen to.
also listen to some TED talks - which are almost guaranteed to make you sleep as they are so boring!
another technique I use to avoid thinking about being awake is to think of a particular situation and play it out in your mind.
I have various “scenes” I play out to get me asleep:
- thinking I have won the lottery and how much would I share with all my family or friends, and then what I would spend my share on.
- managing a sports team, my favourite being baseball, and I then think of all the tactics etc.
Every night I combine the music playlist and play out the “scenes” and it works for me as its basically tricking the brain into switching off eventually.
Another suggestion is to turn on TV and watch something ****e as you will get bored and fall asleep - watching fishing channel or GOD squad channels are good for boredom
