Don't feel like being smug but oh well....
****ing knew it. Until someone pays what we value him at, he can sulk all he wants. If we really takes us to court in that arbitration **** then that just shows how much of scumbag he is ( not that he hasn't shown enough of that). After all we have done and stood by him for, a small moursel of ****ing gratitude Luis ya?
Suarez is running himself into real trouble. He's moaning about some kind of verbal agreement which LFC and he made a year ago. Now if that was during his new contract negotiations then why did he not demand that it was included as a term of the contract - after all the first rule of negotiation is to commit to wrtitng everything that has been verbally agreed.
I'm with the club on this. Stand firm and make the little **** suffer.

No, he said it was written in the contract, not a verbal agreement. Direct quote too.

"My record shows that I'm not the kind of player who wants to change clubs every season"

And the club said it isn't, stalemate! Haven't we been here already![]()
So according to the Guardian report, Suarez isn't pissed off about the ghost release clause which never existed, but by a verbal understanding that we'd let him go if we didn't get CL football. That would explain why Liverpool were confident in declining Arsenal's bids and why Suarez didn't see the point in appealing to the FA about it. It wasn't a contractual issue.
Still, we're not saying he can't leave; just he can only leave for his value - which Arsenal don't want to bid.
I don't see an issue other than Suarez wanting to leave for less than he's worth to us...which won't happen.

There is no release clause in his contractDidn`t really read it did you, he said it is not only verbal it is written in the contract.

Well it's easy to tell or not, someone (preferably an outside neutral) just needs to look at the contract, and see who's right and who's wrong.

Thats where mediation comes in.

There is no release clause in his contract
We covered that weeks ago. Facts remain that we rejected a 40mill+ bid which would otherwise need to be accepted, and that Suarez decided not to take the issue to court = they have no contractual leg to stand on.
I think we can assume that it was an verbal understanding rather than written and that Suarez's agent is just a muppet who didn't put what his client wanted in either his first contract nor his renegotiated one only last summer.
Fuming with all of this right now, he just keeps making the club look stupid. Get the 50 and get him out. Invest in Damiao, Papa, and some other quality **** and call it a day.

Couldn't agree more, but not to Arsenal (or Spurs).

another reason I am fuming, what happened to I want out of England? Also, of course he does this interview with the club away as he does every interview, when he is not around the club.
