Rofl @ how much worse could his behaviour be! Had me in stitches!

I agree it doesnt matter until a fee is agreed though - i do think a fee will be agreed though. We havent previously tried to spend huge money on a player and for us to pursue him like this and not up our offer seems unlikely. Especially considering of our the field positon - newfinancialdealsandthe debt not being an issueanymore has meant we have freed up alot of cashwe previously wouldn't have had. I have a feeling this is a sign to come of bigger bids comming out of ARsenal in general. But particularly i think signing Suarez would be a stetment from Arsenal.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out but i do think the deal will eventually be done - can't wait to see what the price is :P

THought we already said 50 + 1?

@sisu - im fairly confident a deal will be done and ill be all too happy to come back and eat humble pie if it doesnt :) And no im not so frustrated by words are all over th eplace - my spacekey is broken and has to be hit really hard to work and because of how many different threads im posting on im not bothering to go back and put spaces in where the keyboardfailed to do so.

@sisu - we sold one player to Utd - after we sign Suarez will you be refering to Liverpoolas Arsenals feeder club? <rofl>

it's "think" now is it?<laugh> Get a rear view mirror on your head in case you fall whilst back peddling

Commiserations, a dodgy keyboard is indeed pain in the bollox<ok> Especially when on here

I think our club has put itself in a corner with its statements so I just can't see us accepting under 50M from a PL club. If you do front up with that cash, fair enough. I'd still prefer not to sell him to you on principle (i want him gone BTW) but I think we can easily replace his goals with 50M; even if its two players because those players won't be banned for ten games a season.

@sisu - you want a reply about Liverpool winning things?

Since our last trophy winning season Liverpool have won an FA Cup and a League Cup vs Arsenal no trophies. Both teams have also had a CL final, come close to winning the league on one occasion, Arsenal have had a couple of league cup finals and liverpool have had an FA Cup final. So you've been in one more final overall of similar standard competitons - a penalty win against cardiff in the league cup and anFA Cup 7 years ago hardly makes you a much more likely option of winning trophies than Arsenaldoes it? Especially when you consider that Arsenal have had simialr cup status as you lot whilst alost being in the CL and consistently finishing above you in the league.

@sisu - havent back peddled at all - you made a wum comment about utd so i gave u a little wum comment back. Other than that im stuck by being confident the deal will happen but unsure of what the fee will end up being...

Just having a bit of craic dude, there were a few like Zlatan on your board taking ****e about has been club ect, I just thought I'd correct that misguided opinion.

I think us Liverpool fans have no issue with Arsenal fans in general and it would be a shame to have handbags ongoing over this transfer thing, I think what a few Liverpool fans found ironic is 1 the claiming we are inferior to Arsenal and 2 the turnabout opinions of Suarez all of a sudden by SOME Arsenal fans now that you might be signing him.

Arsenal are a decent football club with decent fans.

@dirtyfrank - often i think comments about "we will only accept xyz" are about gettign clubs to come close to that amount with a deal. So maybe an offeri n the high 40's would do the trick. Although i could see the clubs comming to an arrangement where less than £50m is paid up front with addons taking it to £50mil so that everyone saves face.

@sisu - i still think Suarez is a bit of a **** haha, i was on his side through the whole racism thing though tbh, the biting and stuff is from being competitive, but he needs to sort it out. He comes across as a selfish **** and he probably is - but if he becomes an Arsenal player i'll support him all the same lol

And currently i think Liverpool are inferior to Arsena land it would be a step up for him even if it isnt the massive step some think he should take :)

At this stage I'll take 45m and invest in the team.

the Team has shown Suarez is not the end all and be all of the team in the games without him. He's an asset and a risk at the same time but his quality when he performs cannot be denied, if he wants out I am happy for him to go.

Just not to Arsenal, 12 points between the two clubs, 4 games, not much at all so it does not serve us to strengthen your team.

my point is that the stats say he has less chance of winning a trophy with Arsenal.

Also Liverpool cannot be inferior if they are winning more than Arsenal, end product is success in tournaments, we are better at it than your lot

Winning a league cup on penalties against Cardiff last year doesnt make you not inferior to Arsenal... Wigan won the FA Cup so are they superior to Arsenal, City an Liverpool at the moment?

In terms of regularity of success, anyone can win a once off tourney but fair play to Wigan and Swans. Given the instability we have faced and the obvious stability you've had, we've achieved more.

Like I said
2005 you won the FA cup
In that time we've had two CL finals won 1, 2 fa cup finals league won 1 cup final won it and really should have won the prem in 2009 but we didn't. became top ranked European side.

Given the above facts do you not think Arsenal have underachieved?

You say Wenger is better than Rodgers, Brendan has been 1 season in the job, bit of a lame comparison.

t this moment in time I would worry more about losing courthino than Suarez. I think we can replace the goals but players with courthino a creativity are very very few and far between. We missed out on Mata a couple of years ago but by god we seem to have struck lucky with this guy.

You won the CL the same season we won the FA Cup so not sure why Liverpool fans keep throwing it in as a trophy won during our trophyless period. So you have had 1 CL final the same as us in that time. You have been in 1 more cup final than us in that time period and won an FA Cup the year after our last trophy and then a penalty win against cardiff in the league cup a year ago. We also had a year we should of won the league.

During this period we where competing against the mega rich clubs, and financing a new stadium - we made a profit on transfer dealings which goes to show we just didn't have money to throw around and had to work within our means. So to maintain CL football and top 4 status (Only Utd have managed to do this along with us) get close to a handful of trophies and findourselves in a position where we now have a top stadium and facilities and a financial basis to compete now with the big boys is a fantastic achievment.

So i'd say we have done very well - but for the odd decision or bit of luck we would have a decent trophy hall - such are the fine lines in football.

As for Wenger Vs Brendan - don't be daft. So because he has been at Liverpool for one season he cannot be compared to any manager who has been at there club longer than that? Wenger is a proven world class manager second only in success to Ferguson in the PL era, Rodgers is not. Any club in the world wouldchoose Wenger over Rodgers, so rather than belittling the comparion id just agree if i where you :P

This! ^

@Foredeckdave - still waiting for all this evidence to back up your confidence that London is headed for a massive property crash.

It makes them a football club whose existence means something. The fact that Arsenal are SO bad at competing for trophies means either Wenger is deliberately avoiding them (perhaps to save money on celebrations) or is a far better accountant than manager.

Wenger has won more in his time at Arsenal than Liverpool as a club have won in the last 20-25 years so i wouldn't say he's that bad at winning trophies ;)

And like i say - football is fine lines and but for the odd different decision or bit of luck we would have a decent trophy haul over that time period.

Thats a terrible come-back to my point by the way. So your basically agreeing that Wigan are currently a superior team to City,Arsenal and Liverpool?
