No, for that you need Field's Butchers.
Even after being away for ten years, those pies are still held in the highest esteem.
We can be sat round the table eating a meat pie, and there will always be a comment “not quite as nice as Brian Fields”

Obviously this excludes ones made by Mrs BT. Where if that rash statement was made would render you unable to eat for a week!

I feel your pain, Mrs. LBIA once smashed a Pyrex bowl and threatened to slit my throat with it after I made an innocuous, well I thought so anyway, comment at the dinner (tea) table about her cooking.

I later realised that was the beginning of a long road named menopause ffs.

I always thought the threat of constant pain and suffering began immediately after uttering those life changing words... “I do”. Wasn’t that part of signing your name in blood to authorise such abuse?

I found out in the early days of our life together that you never criticise any cooking otherwise you will get reminded of it for the next 25 years at least in both mental and physical ways. Also never state how nice or how you liked something she has made, as you will then get it every other night, and by the end of the next calendar month you have forgotten that you once liked it....

Given I grew up on Fray Bentos pies, when I see them in the supermarket now I grab one for a bit of nostalgia as they're not always available (overseas). Who gives a **** how crap they are, pie, loads of mash and gravy plus bread and butter, jobs a good'un. They sometimes have those Princes ones as well. ****ing tin's a bitch though.

To my recall, never had a Fray Bentos pie before but...

like the idea of the pie being tin based.
