During last week's "Big Freeze" there was a distinct lack of roads and pavements gritted despite the large amount of time the councils had to prepare for this........Please explain <cheers>

Government institutions can't organise a piss up in a brewery, they're corrupt, lazy and usually the issue starts with the workers who can't be ****ed doing what they are paid for.

Stats wise, council workers in the UK AND Norway take the most sick days and holiday days.

A good way to stop unions in socialist countries like where I live is to hammer everyone with tax so high they can't afford to leave and then make striking punishable by fines or imprisonment

On fuel, surely the government could legislate that the retail price can't fluctuate from x% of the prevailing commodity price at that time? They used to do this with RPM (Resale Price Maintenance) on medicines and it worked fine for years.
It will shrink margins and ensure that when prices rise at wholesale and then fall... retail moves with it whereas now... it immediately goes and and takes weeks to drop.
I fill up on my way to and from work at West Auckland... it's 142.9p a litre for unleaded. The cheapest in Consett due to Supermarket price fixing is Tesco and Morrisons who are out at 152.9p. The mults are just riding a slower downward price curve whilst making out to the consumer they are their champion.
That's where I fill up. They've consistently been 10-15p a litre below the supermarkets during this **** show.
I've just filled up with diesel today £1.59 a litre.

What you gonna do just employ the army everyday... I don't think so

get rid of border force… then employ more soldiers. They are then more efficient in peace time and we have greater numbers of there is a war.

retrained army personnel with no agenda or ego have totally shown up border force. It’s joyous.
