Seems to me that Crawley are in a sweet position regarding Tubbs - if he keeps scoring like he did last season, teams from the higher divisions are inevitably going to come sniffing around - however, the difference between Crawley and almost every other club in their division (and probably most in League 1) is that they're in the financial position of not having to sell to live if they're made a half decent offer.
So if the suitor club makes an offer that isn't within a distance of what Crawley think he's worth, they can be sent away with no adverse consequences. If they then come back with a greatly improved offer, or another club comes in with a big new bid, having seen what went on before, then it could be ker-ching!
Either way, they've not lost out.
