Strange substitutions

With hindsight you'd have to say he got it wrong, but at the time I wasn't complaining about any of the changes so I can't criticise too much. In terms of Ozturk, I'm guessing he took him off because he expected us to have to go for it a bit. If you're taking off a defender and going for a game I reckon you'd want to keep a quick defender on in case you get caught. With that in mind Willis has to stay on. So it's Flanagan or Ozturk. If Hume is getting forward, which he was bound to if chasing a win, of the two I'd say Flanagan is the most comfortable if he gets pulled out of position towards the left since he can apparently play full back. Ozturk would be massively exposed anywhere out of position.

I just think it's so easy to criticise changes with hindsight. I mean, I get that they were a big side, but when Ozturk went off Parkinson will have expected us to be pushing until the end. If we were then their big lads are less of a threat. They might win more in the air against Willis and Flanagan than they would Ozturk, but if we're forcing them back they'd likely be flicking it on to no one and we'd clear the second ball. So we sacrificed Ozturk to try and get the win, once we got the lead and he knew they still had time to press, he brought Lynch on to try and give us that strength at the back. I can see the reasoning in his changes, and they very nearly worked, so I won't criticise. Mind, I am getting sick of the late changes, we've got lads desperate to get on the pitch and they aren't getting long enough to play themselves into the game never mind make a real impact. Really hope Semenyo gets a start on Tuesday, he looks quick, powerful and keen and I'm interested to see what he can do
