Yeah, I think they got the timing wrong. Media were reporting worst winds in Cornwall were after the Red warning period had ended.

Not looking forward to my flights over to the match tomorrow after that.

Think I'll avoid a vanilla milk shake for breakfast.

Not easy to get it spot on I guess.
    Seemed pretty accurate for here.
Dying down now, but still the occasional big gust.

That's true. It's probably the strongest winds we've had here in 10 years, but nothing of the severity of the 1987 storm. Credit though to authorites to advise people to stay indoors. Undoubtedly saved lives.

Bournemouth v Forest game off tonight at 4pm due to structural damage to ground. Bit of a bollox for the Forest fans who we already in the town and those en-route.

Apparently Forest asked for game to be re-scheduled to tomorrow but repairs unable to be carried out in time........

Just seen footage of a roof being blown off a factory in Banbury….and landing on the railway tracks, which I was rather hoping to be travelling on tomorrow. Plus multiple other issues meaning the Chiltern line is closed today, and I reckon will be big delays tomorrow. Looks like I’m driving…..

Woman killed by tree falling in car in London. Perspective.

Just seen Soopers wheelie bin flying down the road at 35mph (in a 30mph limit) … chased it and ended up at the local pub for a beer and dinner!
Sorry Sooper last time I looked it was heading towards Lyme Regis :emoticon-0126-nerd:

Here in Cornwall, Amber warning area we had power outage from 10.30am until just after 5.30pm. Both husband and I at home as had been advised by employers to WFH today. After only an hour with no work, tv or radio and boiling water on gas for tea we were very bored, ended up playing board games and quizzes from a quiz book. It’s been a long day….. lots of trees down and damage to roofs and fences, friends in red warning area report much worse damage. Yes it was all a little later than predicted but guess they can’t be that exact no matter what they say on weather forecast. It didn’t seem as scary as I was expecting but then I was inside my home glad I wasn’t out in it. Very sad this storm has again taken lives and caused so much damage I guess we have to get used ti these more extreme weather conditions.

A bit of wind here today. Not particularly bad. If you didn't listen to the MSM it would be a bit windy. Nothing unusual for this time of year. Me and the dog went out at lunchtime and there was a few gust but nothing out of the ordinary. Neill Fergusson and SAGE are predicting 500 mph winds though. Useless ****s. If you didn't listen to the news you would just get on with your life. Twenty four hour news is a load of old **** and should be ignored.

A bit different here in Bucks 999s.
A lot of trees down, one major tree fell on a busy road in Aylesbury, missing cars luckily. Our local shop was closed due to large tiles falling off the roof. It was pretty dangerous... and we really only got to an Amber warning

Sounds like I chose the right time to go to LA, warm and sunny here.

Step Mum in N.Devon has lost her power, her greenhouse and for a while her garden furniture. Record gusts of 122 mph in the Isle of Wight. Sounds like a bad one. Here in Thailand it's sunny, 30 plus and a gentle breeze.
