Saw the score before reading the thread but I thought it was 4-0 to Stoke after reading it.

No one thinking Christensen had a colossal game?? Plenty of positives. Morata showed pace, skill, poaching and fight. Bakayoko showed plenty of strength, good attack but a tad silly youthful aggression. He will quickly be told to calm it a bit. Rudiger looks a much better player. Moses played better, Azpi superb, my MOM. Fabregas did what he is best at, Pedro William excellent, Hazard dangerous and sharp. Alonso off a bit, but feisty and combatative.
Kante played very well as usual. Conte managed subs well.
What's to complain about? The sum of the whole better than the parts against a team of fighters and spoilers.

Agree with most of this but my MOM was Conte for waiting long enough the bringing on Cesc and Hazard when the game started to open up. From that point on we looked unassailable.

All in all a timely morale booster before we tackle City - encouraging performances from Christensen, Morata and our midfield pairing - not many teams will come away from Stoke with the full quota; a look at the table shows that the usual suspects are taking their places, shaking up to be an intriguing battle for top 4 already.

few of you who support Cescy as if he is still got it, here is a stat.

Dave has 4 Assists.
Cescy has ZERO assists.

Cescy's contribution is way overrated and Dave puts in triple the shift like Cescy.
Cescy's day job is to give fcuking passes into the box and he hasn't cracked it this season.

4 Assists from Azpi already.
Every game Cescy starts will be a massive risk.

Conte agreed with me already and not some of our clueless peeps in here.

not a good argument though. Might as well say we don't need the rest of our team as Azpis the only one with the most assists.

No need for willian, pedro, kante, luiz or bakayoko.

my point is, Cescy isn't doing his day job & only job.
Heck he has hardly beaten the first man in set pieces.

He is past it.

Who needs assists when you can dink a diagonal ball over the defenders for Dave to chest down an easy chance for Alvaro?

Stan, we are only a few games in and last season Cesc was top with assists.
Ginge, If I remember correctly Matic did double duty of Defense & Assists in the initial stages.
Once we settled in on a good winning run, Cescy came in and did his thing.
When there is less pressure, Cescy will be good fit.

Have to admit Morata is going to be one heck of a player for you. I said he was a big improvement on Costa when you signed him, despite many pundits thinking the opposite.

It really does amaze me that Real Madrid have let him go, and I do think it's a decision they may start to regret.

The golden boot race in the PL will certainly be inreresting, as I think you've got atleast 4 players who are capable of getting we'll over 25 goals if they stay fit.

His long run and goal from an angle was a real eye opener. He is looking to have more to his armoury than Costa. What a pity we don't have both !!!

Well the pundits on the tele likened him to Van Nistlerooy the way he took that goal, and you can definitely see the similarities in their play.

Not Lightning quick or a powerhouse, but both very intelligent players, with great feet for their height, and leathel when they get a chance.

He's still got to prove he can keep doing it consistantly in Europe and the PL before he can live up to that comparison though. But it's been a great start so far.

His hold up play as improved since joining us too looking at the Stoke game. I'd suspect it's something he is working on actively with Conte.
