Yeah but we have heard a lot of people are linked to the job and he aint one of the main ones as there have been nothing strong about him, more likely to be Adams still.
One that I have thought about. However, Mark had previously not commented often on here. So as I wish to promote activity to the Gills board on not606 and Mark's opinion is as valid as any other I allowed it to stay as a thread on its own. Obviously I attempt to view every thread on its merits at the time and its value to our board and the contributor.
Fair play. Tilson would be a decent manager but I don't think that he would cause the instant impact that Martin Allen could. Whilst he had a very good record at Southend, I think it is true that you could discount the results that came with managing Lincoln, due to the Sutton business. I personally wouldn't mind a manager joining on a one year contract and if he secures promotion he then secures a new deal and it's Allen's aggressive winning mentality that has me sold.
I agree that the year at Lincoln could be discounted! Chris Sutton spent the playing budget then walked away! Tilson didnt have a chance! I hope a disappointing year at Lincoln doesnt overshadow the 7 from Southend!
He is more loyal to his clubs than mad dog so for that reason alone I would prefer him over allen, also has a good record at this level and with similar budgets, would be a more long term option, may not have the instant impact as has mentioned by Gills lad though, but would be there for the long term. UTG!!
Whatever happens each manager's ability to manage seems to change at each club. Look at Allen when he was at Cheltenham, the main thing I worry about is that he is a loose cannon and would either be a hit or a total miss. Perhaps the stability of Tilson is better Eurgh! Just appoint someone already!!
tilson will not get a job at gillingham fc, so discount him mozzer59 !!! don't discount pulis...till it's announced
Would be happy with Tilson or Adam. Bruce = unrealistic and faaar too expensive. Peacock? Would be insanity (given his age), but I'd be well up for seeing him back for a season! Imagine the reception!!
