What a great article. Just my opinion, of course. Although some on here will disagree, and throw up into their bowls of cornflakes. Such are the vagaries of being a biased football supporter.
Lots of them around.

Cooper has been described on this forum as being an "embarrassment ", but Forest fans' would doubtless argue that the word should precede two other words, viz, " of riches ".
After the season they have had, ( are still having ), who could dispute that ?

Ex Cardiff player, Nathan Blake, summed it up nicely ---

" It's difficult to know why he's not more loved by Swansea fans'. With the budget he had and the players he had, he was a master at being able to get results. "

Well said, Mr. Blake. I think your words carry much more weight than the one eyed football fan.

Cooper has taken his charges to the play off Final for the third successive season. Oh how embarrassing for the poor chap.

I hope it's third time lucky for him. He deserves it. It will be interesting to see how he fares at the top table.

I've got a few spare boxes of cornflakes, should any of my readers need to refill their bowl.

He has done exceptionally well at Forest.

The second leg of the semi-final against Sheffield United, however, demonstrated his innate cautious tendency to “hold on to what he’s got”: this almost backfired as the Blades were by far the better team on the night.

How many matches were there when if we scored early, we basically defended for the rest of the match (Luton away is a good example:

Similarly, our approach in the Play Off final backfired spectacularly.

I wish him well against Huddersfield: if he adopts a bold approach, I expect them to win.

Since when is holding on to what he's got necessarily a bad thing. Isn't that what happens, day in and day out, not only on a football field?

Many outside of this forum would say that Cooper did " exceptionally well " at Swansea. Two successive play offs must surely confirm that.
But no praise for the great man. Just negativity, and indifference.

Two successful seasons, with many exciting players coming to the Club because he was the Manager? Yet no one hereabouts has anything positive to say about him. Quite remarkable, especially when you compare him with the dross employed by Cardiff.

I created this thread safe in the knowledge it would get little attention. I was right.

I actually believe that Thomas Frank and Daniel Farke - with either of the 2 squads that Cooper had - would have got us promoted.

Martin had a weaker squad.

As I said, Cooper has done exceptionally well at Forest - I’d say better than with us

I remember a thread a while back when people were calling for his head. The question i put in that thread was; were we where we were (playoffs) despite Cooper or because of him. The general consensus was despite him.

As such, Cooper benefitted from inheriting a strong - albeit underperforming - squad.

As I’ve said above, he’s done an exceptional job at Forest - so good luck to him.

It seems - if the rumours are to be believed - that he basically ‘downed tools’ after the Play Off final.

He ignored the Jack Army this season - unlike Brendan or Bobby Brown shoes when they left.

At the end of the day, he’s a World Cup U17s winner, 3 consecutive Championship Play Off Finals, securing promotion at the 3rd attempt so he obviously has got something. I know via Jack Colback’s family that the Forest squad think he’s brilliant.

That said, he’s not my cup of tea.

Some may like Ricky Gervais, Alan Carr and Steve Coogan - I don’t. That doesn’t make them poor comics - just not my cup of tea.

The Premier League "bright lights " attract many Managers, and not just from Swansea. Who can blame them for wanting to better themselves, in different ways. I changed jobs when it suited me, gaining advancement every time. It's what people do. Why should there be special expectatiins of football managers, and players?

Clearly Cooper " certainly has something about him ". His footballing cv is very impressive, unlike his many detractor's who have little of any importance to show and wave around.

I seem to recall Laudrup, and Monk were sacked, so no bright lights in their eyes.

Blaming management is just such an easy option. I noticed your question mark, so am not having a go at you.
