I like Bruce, but I just wish we would go for it more. He did my head in with his substitutions on Saturday- bring Maguire on to combat their giant up front- fair enough. But having no-one resembling an attacking midfielder, let alone a striker, on the pitch was just ****ing ridiculous. Unlikely though it seemed, if they had nicked a completely undeserved equalizer, we would have been screwed in extra time with that set-up. Happy enough if he stays, but wouldn't be inconsolable if he goes.
I really hate negativity and it must be hard being perfect but there are so many underachieving keyboard warriors on here that should be in football management what are you waiting for, Steve Bruce is a very good manager he has proved this he has had to deal with all the off field antics caused by our strange at times owners and passionate fans, couple that with big egos in the dressing room causing background unrest, media scrutiny and through it all he has remained calm and composed.
Where did we finish just outside of the automatic promotion places and then on to the playoff final and back to the premier league, any other teams fans would be ecstatic, Newcastle spent how much? Chelsea finished where, Liverpool etc had a poor season, changing your manager does not always work and for a small club like ours can end up in financial ruin so if you think you have what it takes get your coaching badges go get yourself a bank loan and buy out our strange owners and splash the cash on very expensive players that might turn out to be like Jimmy Bullard then have some of your fans booing you and so on.
If I had that sort of money I would not be ploughing it into a football club thank goodness our strange owners did, for that I take my hat off to them, my advice would be for them to sell up and let's hope the new owners will be as generous

first of all, it isnt his job to deal with **** off the field, he just has to motivate the players and quit picking donkeys.
I understand that Lesster are a probably a one off - but imagine how well they'd have done if they kept Nigel Pearson in charge.
Truth is that foreign managers have flair and more desire.... And were left with the fat Geordie?
Not all down to Brucey, but based on the fact we were unable to sell all our tickets for Wembley, plus c6,000 memberships sold (appalling) I reckon we must have around 10,000 'underachieving keyboard warriors'. The state of apathy consuming our club demands change all round, and NOW!
To be honest I have never found being perfect to be that difficult.
But realistically Les what can we do? I prefer to stay positive and get on with supporting the team regardless of what's going on in the background and as much as I don't agree with what the owners say and do I can only admire Mr Allam for what he did

championship? yeah he's a top manager.
Brit managers like Alardice, Nige Pearson, Brucey, Pulis are all managers that cant seem to finish any higher than the lower Echelons of the PL.
That ex Watford boss Flores, would be a great manager for us, but geographically, were in an undesirable location.
The dust hasn't settled thats why it's an emotive time to be talking about the manager, it's time for a change and somebody with fresh ideas to come in and it has been for maybe 2 years now
He's a good manager at a certain level, beyond that he isn't
At the end of the day it's about what people want for the club, stability with Bruce but not progression, or somebody to come in and establish us as a Prem team because Bruce clearly isn't going to be that person. If people are happy with us being a yo-yo club then keep Bruce, we are only ever going to be desperately trying to survive in the top flight with Bruce
Love my club and will continue as I have for many years continue to support them through thick and thin. The Allams saved us when on the brink (that said many others would have I feel, but more likely would have been via administration with the added difficulties that would have brought). The last 8 years have seen us playing at a level that I thought I would not see; I certainly didn't anticipate seeing my team play in China! However stand still, and you go backwards, so onwards and upwards. Wholesale change is now required to achieve that and I for one would be the first to thank Brucey and the Allams for their contributions, but in my personal opinion do not represent the best way forward (Bruceys record in the Premiership is not good); I for one hope they all stand aside to let the club move onwards and upwards, and in doing so help get back the 'lost 10,000 or so supporters' that at face value have been totally underwhelmed by the 'success' of this season, and the antics of our owners.
It's easy to disagree that they paid £10m for Turner.
I think Bruce has done really well to keep the team on an even keel through 2 years of off the field **** generated by the Allams, and think, realistically, only those outside the club looking in can truly appreciate that side of it. It must have been one of the hardest jobs in the top 2 divisions through that period- no wonder he looks (and probably feels) knackered. To me, if new owners want to give Bruce a go unfettered by off the field ****storms then I think he has earned the right.
On the other hand, if the Allams feel like hanging around, I hope Bruce will stand up and walk and put a bit of pressure on them.
Wembley might have been one crossroads negotiated for the club, but whether the Allams stay or go will be the clincher for me, much more so than the future of Bruce.

Well, he got Birmingham higher than Villa for the 1st time since the 70's, as they finished 13th and 10th and 12th before being relegated, got Wigan to 11th, Sunderland to 13th and even when sacked they were 16th, all positions higher than subsequent managers managed so I would say he definitely is a PL manager.
I'm not convinced by the comments Steve Harper made about the lack of focus on attacking during training, and that is borne out by the way we seem to retreat into our shells and see what the opposition have to offer, but overall, we could have far worse managers leading us in the Premier League
I do love how people ignore the fact he got teams like Wigan, Sunderland and Birmingham way above the relegation zone and into midtable.
