Is this because they're just totally 9skint or know what the EFL have decided about the season.

Luton Town have today come to a mutual agreement with Graeme Jones on the termination of his contract as first-team manager.
Assistant manager Gary Brabin, first-team coach Inigo Idiakez and technical goalkeeping coach Imanol Etxeberria have also had their contracts terminated with immediate effect.

As you say this suggests Luton Town know something we don't about what will happen to this season. There is no possible way we can conclude the season i.m.o. it will inevitably be declared null and void and pick up with teams in the same divisions as when it was halted.

Potentially a good thing for us.. we weren't looking like going up automatically, and starting the season with teams that haven't dropped down from the Championship is probably better for us. Our (and any other teams) form will be a lottery when restarting again after such a disruptive period.

It's a sad way of thinking I know - but I just can't see how teams will finish the season with the potential of players still coming down with Coronavirus - even with games played behind closed doors.

At least we weren't sat in the top 2 or 6 when the season stopped!

I can't argue with any of that tbh.
