“I am disappointed to be leaving Leicester City Football Club. It was always my aim to lead the club into the Barclays Premier League and I am very sorry that I won’t be able to do that.

“I have always thought, and still believe now, that the club will be promoted this season. The current squad is capable and ready to achieve promotion, but football is a results industry and unfortunately we couldn’t quite get things right enough of the time.

“Being the manager of Leicester City was an absolute pleasure and I wish everyone connected with the club the best of luck. Leicester City is a great club and I am certain that with the current owners in charge the club will go from strength to strength.

“To the players; old, new, everyone in the squad, I would like to say thank you. You are a talented group and I am hopeful that you will achieve success very soon.

“To the staff at the club; both at the stadium and the training ground – you treated me like a king and I shall miss working with you all.

“Last but not least, to the fans; I want to say a huge thank you for your support. You are fantastic people and I will never forget the way you welcomed me in to your club. I am just sorry that I won’t be on the bench the day you reach the Premier League.”

Thanks Sven. I hope we can invite you back as a guest to watch us play Man United in the not too distant future

Sven did a good job for us when you look at the squad he started with. When he first came our team wasnt very good to say the least and probaly would of taken us down, But Sven used his contacts to get us some fantastic players on loan. Some of them worked out and some didnt but they easily kept us and but just ran out of steam when they tried to take us up. Sven has assembled a quality squad over the summer with big name players like Nugent, Schmeichel, Beckford, Fernandes, Johnson, Mills and Konchesky coming to us. They would never of gave us a 2nd look if it wasnt for Sven

Because of his reputation and the money spent people will never give him the credit he deserves for what he done for us but when you look at the signings we was making before Sven and the players we can now attract. Sven deserves alot of credit for what he did for us. A true gentleman and even now has left with his dignity and his head held high

Thanks Sven

People raised an eyebrow when he came to a club in the bottom three of the Championship. Within a few weeks, it looked like the play-offs were a serious possibility. One year later, he gets the sack after we failed to win a game that could potentially have taken us into the automatic spots. Talk about a demanding job!

Goodbye and thanks Sven, maybe your critics will begin to acknowledge your achievements when your signings go down in Leicester folklore.

Thanks Sven, you are a true gentleman! sorry it did not work for you.
Think you would have been loyal to the club, but imo your mistake was
you defended the players, instead of giving them a kick up the backside
tbh i have seen donkeys on Blackpool beach run faster than some of our players.
