Pardew will never quit.

He's on a nice earner here and will be even more so if they have to pay-up his contract.

I have no sympathy for any of them, they're all money-sharks in my eyes and will do whatever is required to feed themselves.

The only possible salvation for Newcastle United, is that there is some truth in these take-over rumours.

Please please please!

Mate back in June it looked like Laudrup might walk because Jenkins wasn't going to back him. In the end, they backed him. Laudrup had the balls to stand up and risk putting his neck on the line because he knew you needed players or you'd probably struggle this season, given the Europa involvement and all.

Poor comparison really. If Laudrup had tried that with Mike, he'd have been in the dole queue. The big difference being Jenkins is driven by a desire for the club to do well. Ashley is driven by a desire for the club to be profitable. Not a bad thing mind, it just doesn't mkae for very interesting transfer windows.

What i have noticed is that whoever is manager and you have had a fair few to be honest that none of them have any power to make any footballing decisions, they are made by ash who knows nothing in reality and is more concerned about how much profit he can make, not the club but his personal wealth. the club itself ends up paying millions in compensation to past managers not ash. the toon are a massive club and should be up there with the big boys and not down the table fighting for survival like the rest of us. Until ash and his cronies leave the club then whoever is manager will be in the same situation as pardo...

Never really post but enjoy these boards, however i have found myself in situation where i was being undermined and i quit my job. Have done this twice as i have a backbone and i wont take fall for others when they dont deserve it. Pardew had the chance to get his side across and if he was sacked he would have got paid off but to come out and claim as if there was no options is pure ****e. So dont go on about pity, pity is rarely due when it is within the persons ability or chance to change whats happening or being said.

I admire you. That isn't easy.

Regardless, Laudrup could have easily kept his head down and gone along with the owner's original intentions. Says a lot about the integrity of the man.

I think Ashley is just content with us not being too much of a drain on his resources these days. I can't see us ever being truly profitable for him, especially in comparison to his other business ventures.

Tbh, the whole thing is just making me laugh now. I've been angry, I've been absolutely livid. Now, this statement made me laugh. The temerity of it all!
If the last straw hadn't broken my camels back some time ago, this statement would have done it. What MA doesn't realise is that the more final straws he creates, the less support this great club will have.
Less and less supporters through the door (or over the line if you prefer) means less and less money in his grubby little hands. Speaking of hands, I washed mine of this regime at the end of last season. I'm not suggesting I saw anything coming or prophesying impending doom, rather, I've just had enough of their lies and rhetoric. I'm worn out with it all.

I think we're all looking far too much into this entire situation.

Talk of Pardew earning / losing respect from the fans, being a corporate puppet, being undermined by the board, here because he's the bosses mate, here because he has gambling debts to Ashley etc etc.

Maybe it's just so much more simple. Could it not be that Pardew simply enjoys being a premier league manager and is therefore willing to deal with Mike & Kinnear not strengthening and generally being dicks etc because he enjoys the job? The sense of accomplishment when you guide your team to a win in the PL must be immense and possibly worth any kind of grumbling & muttering from the fans / board.

Oh and just a personal note on respect, yes you have to earn it rather than expect it which Pardew hasn't done with the press conferences he's called, but does he care if he has our respect? Doubt it, I personally don't care if people I don't know respect me for not. Only friends and family's thoughts on me are really important in my eyes.

I couldn't care less about Pardew anymore and his circumstance anymore.

I don't see that it matters whether or not he agrees with whats going on or not, he gets paid for doing a job and he's getting on with it.

He's made his bed so let him lie in it, he knew the score with he took Ashley's silver when Hughton got the bullet.
It's never bothered him before, so why should it now and besides if he does get the sack, he's hardly going to walk away with nothing. He won't shed any tears for us, and he's probably building up a decent constructive dismissal case anyway.
