I was at the trust meeting back in November when it was said we have major issues and that is why the planned extension was took off the agenda and all efforts were to go ahead with finishing off the new training facilities... there is no way we can extend because of the surrounding areas objections that were made the stadium was built in the wrong place. there was too many objections for it to go ahead at this time...We were originally suppose to build a railway platform someone said and that never materialized. Its the location and the lack of facilities to cope with what we have got at the moment is the stumbling block to any major expansion for the foreseeable future and that's why it was scrapped at that time....there is just not the space...

Do you really? How odd.

I could equally say that I find that yours not going ahead is equally hilarious. The other stuff you mention in that comment qualifies for child of the month post.

Why don't you discuss your own (perceived) problems with your stadium development on this decent discussion thread without making yourself look a right prat by taking it off course mentioning Cardiff?

It is equally hilarious to you. You're a Cardiff fan. I won't deprive you of the right to enjoy a laugh at Swansea's expense. But do it on your own board, where I won't see it. I've never been on the Cardiff board. Don't intend to. So remind me why you're here? I was discussing our problems in a civilised manner, and if I want to poke fun at Cardiff, so what? This is a Swansea board if you haven't noticed. Now I'll continue to poke fun at Cardiff even more than normal knowing that you just can't help commenting on it. It'll be fun to see you wind yourself up! Whenever you see a post from me insulting Cardiff, just remember that replying is EXACTLY want I want you to do. I might even give myself a treat every time you directly reply to me as reward for getting a fresh bite from you!

And 'child of the month'? A common comeback when one is beaten. It's a shame you can't fight banter with banter. At least take a joke and give one back if you want me to give you any sort of welcome here.

And throw in an extra 10 % tip for the builder for Cardiff 's stadium , its just numbers .

Why do we need to expand when we have the bonus payments for the last three seasons! Last season we had 10.8 million quid whilst Cardiff had 1.2 million- so all the extra seats they have mean diddly squeak !

Sorry Dai , but where in the minutes does it describe the above and am I to assume that your'e an active Trust member ?

Like I said "child of the month"...<laugh>

BigKid - you know that prize you won recently? I think you picked up the wrong one pal - it should have been a rattle and dummy.......<laugh>

For one thing, I've got no particular interest in whether your stadium expansion goes ahead, and nowhere in my posts do I suggest I was having a laugh at Swansea's expense as you put it. I was merely responding to your infantile jibes about ours that is actually going ahead as planned.

Apart from Aussie, I see very few others on here who want to talk about anything other than their own stadium. Perhaps you should take a leaf out of their books and stop spitting your rusks out. <ok>

Uh oh, looks like I'm getting my first treat! You're going to make me fat!

You know nothing about me, but those that do will know that I very rarely talk about Cardiff on this board. Feel free to stalk your way through my previous posts as proof if you must. But if I want to (which to be honest, isn't often), I can and I will. I didn't realise that a Cardiff fan was moderating what is said on the Swansea board? I won't be taking your advice because you have no right to tell me what I can and can't say on this board. Just like I can't stop you saying anything on yours.

And well done...you made a joke about my username. I can do that too, you know? You must be going senile in your old age given your truly awful joke making ability. From what I've seen of you so far, you're more than one spark short of a fire.

I'm not telling you what to say on your club board BigKid - far from it. You carry on and let others judge for themselves. <ok>

Whether you post on the Cardiff board or not is irrelevant. There are many a jack poster that does as it's an open forum for all. Like anything else, a bit of a curate's egg for both Cardiff and Swansea posters - some good, some bad - doesn't really matter in life unless you take it too seriously.

Keep up the good work over here and I hope you get your stadium expansion (that this thread was about) in due course. <ok>

We want an extension and money has been put aside for an extension but its not an easy process due to the location as there are many negatives that is stopping us from going ahead. The local council with a free vote vetoed any expansion because of the problems it will create at landore and surrounding areas for it's residents. until a solution is met then there is no way an extension that we need can go ahead. There is a major shopping complex on the same site that has a big say in the matter and they are not happy as they are losing business already on any match day...It's a very complex situation and must be sorted first..

The expansion will go ahead. It was originally stated that the three phases would take between 3 and 5 years to complete. It was never set in stone that phase 1 would be finished before next season.

where is the same cardiff travel plan...i guess ccfc stadium had to apply for expansion via the same process ?

Lego land was built on virgin land with a decent road infrastructure and rail link already inplace ( if I'm wrong I'm sure Old sparky will be along shortly to correct me ) but they had the same concerns regarding the additional parking spaces required for the extension and a feasibility study was undertaken with the result of approval of the plans .The council asked for a monetary contribution to pay for extra wardens but the club pleaded poverty and turned them down.

Mat i said that we never had the parking sorted when the stadium was built and we should have built a multistory car park to accommodate the fans at the same time.

Multi-storey is the way to go... And it should be built in the park and ride next to the stadium. Shame the council haven't even considered the idea.

It would have to have a myriad of entrances and exits which would take up a more space than available , all leading traffic enrtering /exiting onto one road ,It's not practicable ,at least at the moment the parking is varied across all sides of the Stadium and the main bottle necks are the Morfa shopping area .

There are already two inlets and two outlets heading in opposite directions, plus expansion is attainable towards the river. The new road would actually go near the expanded section and serve as the third inlet and third outlet.

Fingers crossed we do get our expansion, even if I think the 32-33k final capacity is a little optimistic even with PL football.

It is an open forum, yes - so post over here if you like. If I was on the Cardiff board, I'd expect a frosty reception to my posts even if I felt I was rationally defending Swansea. I'm sure the Swansea fans that do are told to f*** off regularly. Part and parcel of the rivalry. What I'm saying is that no matter how much you stamp your feet at our Cardiff jokes/jibes, you won't ever stamp them out. So my advice to you would be to not immediately jump to the defence of your beloved CCFC every time you see one, because the reality is that by doing that you're only adding fuel to the fire of what was, most of the time, a piece of friendly banter. Maybe that's your intention though...in which case, bring it on!
