Here's one to think about, who will be wearing what, and when will they be announced?

Who will start me off, give me a .........

Dale Bennett, you can't have a defender wearing such an iconic number!

Besides 7 is my lucky number. And on that notion I'm off to bed.

Why cant you?? in theory you should work it that the lower you are the nearer you goal you and and the higher the number the further away you are, thats how it used to work did it not? Night Elixir

Who remembers Charlton 1993 when "squad numbers" first came out. Managed by a committee of Curbishley and Gritt they allocated them by alphabet.

Number 1 was not a goalkeeper, but Stuart Balmer a lump of a centre half. I cannot tell you how ridiculous that looked.

My favourite #7 has got to be Kevin Keegan. When I saw him and John Toshack, for the first time, live in the flesh, in the Kemlyn Road stand - WOW.

Morning All,

I am an old fashioned so and so, therefore the numbers 1 to 11 are vitally important. I have seen at Watford in the last few years they are a clear indication by the manager - "this is my 1st X1".

To this end the spare numbers are :

3
7 - Bring on Britt!
8 - I'm still not convinced Josh Walker has enough at Championship level.
10 - Sordell, is he ready?
11 -

What do you think?

Elixir, are you old enough to remember the '78 World Cup in Argentina when they did the same thing? Ossie Ardiles was 1 and GK Ubaldo Fillol was 7.

As for the 'Orns numbers, I think someone who is already at the club should be 10 because any new striker coming in will have so much pressure if they are given 10. I also agree about Walker - I think Jenkins and him should swap numbers so RJ is 8 and JW is 14. If McGinn wasn't going to miss about half the season, I would've said he should be given 7, and I think Forsyth will be given 11. If we're close to signing a LB, then 3 will be left for them. If not, it'll be given to one of Mirfin, Bennett and Thompson.

As for when they're announced, I'm guessing it'll be at the same time that the away kit is revealed.
