Whilst we hold the power, I’d imagine Vuskovic wouldn’t want to return to a club in the second tier after having had a blinding personal season in the German top flight. Already rumours Barca want him and no doubt many others will.

Do you also mean Lankshear by the way? Shankland’s a new one for me, lol.

Lol yes sorry.

Shankland has been key to Hearts' season. I'm constantly getting them confused.

I wouldn’t even call the January window arrogance on the board's part. I'd say callous

They obviously decided Frank wouldn’t be here come July 1st, so went into the window looking to sign players for any manager other than Frank, hence the moves for Gallagher and Semenyo

The issue they failed to see is they were advertising that we'd be in a limbo state for half a season, which actively hurt our negotiations far more than if we ripped off the band aid and replaced Frank earlier

You're right, but the piece that doesn't fit for me was the decision to sell Johnson, which was clearly a strong vote of confidence in Frank.

Logically he was moved on to make room for Semenyo, as we'd have had Kudus and Semenyo on the wings with Tel and Odobert in reserve

...of course, logically we should have noticed it was an open secret since the summer that Semenyo was joining the Mansourites once his release clause activated so we were never going to sign him

Not necessarily a vote of confidence in Frank, more getting pieces in place for whoever the board were thinking of approaching in the summer

There was never a fool's hope we'd get Semenyo. I don't even recall us trying in January. We tried in the summer and it failed spectacularly, as it was clear he didn't want to come.

I don't even recall us trying again for Savinho after Semenyo joined City.

In short, our January window passed us by without any semblance of a plan. And Lange has literally nothing to do in between windows apart from planning the window.

We certainly bid again in January, offering him what turned out to be higher wages than he's on at the Mansourites

Also, Lange wasn't supposed to be in charge for January, Paratici was. Lange's job was basically Souza, Paratici was Gallagher/Semenyo...and then it became Lange's job when Paratici bounced, while the board busied themselves with writing the script for Lange to read out while Lange was finishing off the Gallagher deal he wasn't supposed to be near

Lange absolutely should have refused to put his name and face to the "Welp, we tried" statement, mind, because self respect is a good trait to have - and also one that has people realise they're being set up to be the fall guy

Maddison has always been a diving bastard. He's usually already in the air before the connection.

We've certainly seen those given as a penalty.

But being fair, the game should have ended about 7 minutes before that incident took place.

No idea where they got 13mins from.

I think it’s one of those that probably doesn’t get turned over if it’s given by the ref on the pitch. Maddison seems convinced he touched the ball not the Leeds player.

13 mins did feel like a long time.

Any length of time feels like a long time when you spend all game watching Kolo Muani running into dead ends and Richarlison hitting the corner flag from a shot in the six yard box.

The issue for me, as I said at the time, was that VAR took only a brief look at the incident and didn't show all angles. How long and how many angles did they look at the other end - for a decision that even for me as a Spurs fan was pretty ****ing obvious!

But even I we had got the pen, I'm pretty confident we would have missed it at that stage! <doh><laugh>

I thought we were going to see the real Richarlison at the beginning of the season which he started with a couple of spectacular goals, but no he reverts to:- How as professional footballer who can't control a ball, who usually loses the ball and falls over did he get so far in the game? When you think how hard it is as a young talented footballer to break through. To even get to League 2 standard is difficult and makes you amongst the best footballers. He must have had a period when he was good to get to the PL. Anybody know about that. I was always mystified by Darren Bent who managed to be a 16million transfer to Spurs (huge money at the time) on the back of a good season at Charlton, but Richarlison must be where he is because occasionally (very occasionally) he scores fantastic goals. He runs about a lot, I'll give him that and he comes across as a decent human being but HOW did he get this far in football HOW?

Can you ask an easier one? <laugh>
