I think every manager deserves a fair chance and the backing of the fans... until he proves to be consistently incompetent.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, speaking to BBC Sport: "I have said to the boys that until the first goal we played a very good away match with possibilities to score. The last big possibilities was for Anthony Martial and then there is that mis-communication in the centre of defence and that is a big pity. Within five minutes the game is over with the second and third goals and that cannot happen. I know that, but OK that has happened and we have to cope with that. "You have to see how they scored. It was a set play, the second goal. Our organisation is normally good and our best headers were on the strongest players and still they have lost that duel. OK that can happen but it cannot happen in sport because that means they can score. "Still we have a couple of matches to go and your opponents can lose lose matches, we have seen that. But I know that it is more difficult than before."
I don't see any top player wanting to play for this ****tard, he will turn a good player to crap. Playing a team like spurs and having mata on the wing when he knows rose will run at him all game. Playing a young inexperienced lingard as no 10 at the expense of mata and Herrera, playing 2 slow players in cm. On top of that young came in the second half and played him at striker. This flatface is so incompetent.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal: "Until the first goal we were at least the equal team. The better chance was for us with Anthony Martial, a big chance. We give the first goal away, a miscommunication and then in five minutes we were out of the game. The seond goal is a set play and our best header loses the duel. It was a fantastic header from Alderweireld. It cannot happen. But it happened. "Why did Ashley Young go up front? I want more running in behind because in the first half we didn't have an attacking point. That was the reason. Every team can lose to everybody so we are still in the race. Of course when you lose a game you have to close the gap again and that is more difficult. "Tottenham is a great team, I said that in advance of this match. But at 0-0 we were playing well and had a big chance. 3-0 is a big negative result but until we conceded it was good."
It's as if he was a spectator. Like he's detached from everything that happens. You're the fcking manager. The guy is so deluded it's unreal. He's basically saying we could have scratched a win or done a smash and grab. Is that all football is about for him?
Our organisation is normally good and our best headers were on the strongest players and still they have lost that duel. OK that can happen but it cannot happen in sport because that means they can score. Why the hell elsewhere would this happen then LVG in Morrisons.
Sky interview - he is delusional - http://www.skysports.com/watch/vide...ter-united/10238478/lvg-still-has-top-4-hopes
As a Leeds fan LVG is the second best manager you have ever had. If he carries on he will prove more damaging than Wilf, Dave, Tommy, big Ron and Golum.
To be fair he has been solid for good parts of the season. The constant changes in defence can't have helped him settle in either. Hopefully he will have a solid Euros and will come back a more confident player for our new manager
Van Gaal reacts to Tottenham defeat Manchester United were beaten 3-0 by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday - conceding three goals in six second-half minutes - and Louis van Gaal was bitterly disappointed by the result. Here is what he had to say in his post-match interviews with Sky Sports and MUTV... Could such a result have been predicted at half-time when the score was goalless? “No, until the first goal, we were at least the equal team and the better chance was for us with [Anthony] Martial. It was a big chance, with a big space and a big time for him, but we gave the goal away with miscommunication and then you know what happened next. Within five minutes, we were out of the game.” Did United’s defence struggle to clear their minds after conceding the first goal? “You don’t clear your head and I think that is strongly expressed, because the second goal is a set-play and our best header [Chris Smalling], or one of our best headers, lost his duel and it was a fantastic header from [Toby] Alderweireld. But it is happening and it cannot happen. That is also what I said to him.” What was the thinking behind Ashley Young’s half-time introduction up front? “I wanted more running in behind because, in the first half, we didn’t have an attacking point and that is the reason.” How big a blow is this in the race for fourth? “Every team can lose to everybody so we are still in the race but, of course, when you lose a game you have to close the gap again and that is difficult.” Was the manner of the defeat the biggest disappointment? “I don’t think so because I think Tottenham is a great team and I have said that also in advance of this match. But, until the first goal, I think we were a good team who were playing good in Tottenham and we also had a big chance for a goal, so you cannot say the way that we have lost... Yes 3-0 is a big negative result but the way that we have played until the first goal was good." How is Tim Fosu-Mensah after picking up an injury when playing superbly? "Yeah, he did his job very well but he is injured and he has to go out and that's a pity for the team. But it was a very difficult selection for him because I could also have chosen Matteo Darmian and I cannot think that a consequence of Timothy’s injury is a 3-0 defeat, I don’t believe in that." Did the traffic problems leading to the delayed kick-off have an impact? "No I don’t think so. In the first 20 minutes, we were the better team, I believe. So, I don’t believe in that neither. There is no excuse for that, I believe." Does the game against West Ham take on even greater significance now ?"Not really, I am a completely crap manager so it doesn't matter who we play, we will lose".
