Why would his agent be to blame?
Levy's statement suggested that the player and his agent wouldn't have been made aware of the bid, if not for the leak.

Modric's pro-Chelsea comments included talk of their ambitions, which is something that you normally hear from someone that's been in communication with a club.
It's far more common to talk about what the club have done in the past, rather than what they aim to do, unless you actually know what they aim to do.
His virtual elimination of any other move was also quite strange, to say the least.

Well you can keep him and his new found loyalty that should go down a bundle with the other Spuds<ok>

So all these allegations are based on suggestion???! Jesus wept. And even if the bid was leaked, so what?

Tapping up for me is when a player has been talked to without the club's permission. Lets examine that then. Merely that he talked about our ambitions?? 75 million spent in Jan would tell you that!!

Stays clutching at....

He's hardly going to come out and say, "When I talked to Chelsea, they said some great stuff", is he?
Your actions and his words suggest that he's been tapped up.
Pretending that they don't and ignoring your repeated history of doing it won't change that.

You really are desperate.

You can't accept the known facts, so you make up things to make yourself feel better.

Truly pathetic.

What have I made up?
That Chelsea have been caught repeatedly tapping people up?
No.
That Chelsea made a derisory offer for a player that they'd been told wasn't for sale and then that information leaked to the press?
No.
That a player isn't going to come out and say that he's been tapped up?
No.
That Modric made some unusual comments in his interview/s?
No.

So nothing, then.

Chelsea have done nothing wrong, they are trying to but a player at the price they value him at

Firstly, none of us know whether Chelsea have done anything wrong or not and secondly, that's not how transfers work.

If you want to buy my house, you don't pay what you think it's worth.
You pay what I think it's worth, negotiate my price down or you don't buy it at all.

They're just trying to squeeze as much money out of us, you can tell by Redknapps repeated comments on how good he is and how brilliant he is off the pitch, and comments referring to henderson not bein fit enough to lace his boots, just trying to hype him up to get an extortionate fee from us. Pathetic spuds, henderson was only 20m cos he was british, and if fabregas is being priced at 35m then modric is no more than 25/26m.

Got to admit, don't really like either team, but Spurs fans must be really hypocritical if they are complaining about Chelsea 'tapping up' one of their players seeming Uncle 'Arry does all of his in the media... or is saying that he would love a player to sign for him not 'tapping up'? He's always in the press naming players he'd like to sign... I think the last few transfer windows he's 'admired' Scotty Parker, for a start!

All of this is, of course, purely academic now, because the mad Russian has failed in his attempt to prise our little magician off us. You're stuck with old Frankie-boy, I'm afraid.

Good luck with next season, by the way. You new kiddie manager is going to need a lot of that.

Is that our 'kiddie' manager whose achieved more in 12 months than your manager has in his whole career!?!?

I think the likes of pep and jose have proved age is not a barrier to success in management.

Also, good luck with your star midfielder who no longer want to be there. That must irk.

Be fair 100 years and no disrespect to your new manager, but I think Harry would also walk the Portugese league with Porto and probably win the Europa Cup with a good draw. If Modric is one of the top earners at Spurs on the reported 45 k a week, Redknapp deserves massive credit though it pains me as gunner to say so, for getting Spurs in the Champs League on what must be a low wage bill compared to Chelsea's and Arsenal's.

Look, I like Harry and hope he is the next England manager but I'm not going to let some no nothing spud come on here and belittle a manager who achieved something remarkable last year.

Remember Porto finished 3rd the year before Villas-Boas took over. In one year he won the treble breaking loads of records in the process. That was a special achievement. Spurs have hardly set the world alight. They finished 4th in a year when city had pretty much a whole new first team and Liverpool fell off the face of the Earth when Benitez lost the plot. They'll be lucky to make Europe next year.

Harry has also been very lucky that Levy got him Modric and VDV and Bale turned into a world beater over night.

Somebody also wins the lottery most weeks at odds of 14 million to one. Hope this fact eases your pain somewhat :p

Fireball, I feel a bit uncomfortable sticking up for Redknapp, but I am passed the stage of being one eyed about these things. I am not sure comparing a lucky lottery win with getting through a 38 game season to finish 4th is the best analogy, but I know you are being light hearted.

Lighthearted to a degree. It was a funny old season that year and the Spuds played way above their normal level, at least until they eventually played a top team, when they were found out. As for the Modric element, he missed a large part of the season that they fluked it into 4th.
