Looks like Brian Clough was right about Tomaszewski. He is a clown. Legia with their dodgy history are in no position to take any moral high ground, their behaviour over the last week or so has been like a wean throwing the toys oot the pram, ffs Henning Berg has even admitted phoning and speaking/arguing with Ronny. Who the **** does he think he is? If Cas does rule in Legia's favour (I don't see how they can though) we should kick up a fuss of our own and start finger pointing.
I actually agree with this - what most of these fuds seem unable to grasp is that laws and rules are not about morals or justice but are about what is permissible within the letter of those laws or rules.
If that is what Legia have said to CAS then they are wrong and the appeal WILL be thrown out. They did not forefeit the game for "fielding an ineligible player", they lost the game for fielding a player who had been "suspended following a disciplinary decision". Huge difference. please log in to view this image
I don't see what they hope to gain by going to CAS, the commitee who decide is usually made up of lawyers and the rules are crystal clear. All they are doing is spoiling both Clubs' preparations for the upcoming CL/EL games. Personally I don't give two ****s if Legia have not even bothered booking flights to Borat country, they are at it. First they were outraged, then the petulance began, then intimidation and threats, now it's simply a spiteful vendetta against Celtic who have done absolutely nothing wrong apart from being ****e in the 2 games.
Warsaw had an away league match last night , the home team played the champions league music over the tannoy and the home fans chanted celtic glasgow celtic glasgow
I did want a one of match but now they can piss off. I don't see how they can blame us it is between them and UEFA.
Aye, it did http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/legia-warsaw-opponents-poke-fun-4058576
Most of the people I speak to down here are saying UEFA made the right decision. Must admit I thought it was harsh at firsr, but the more you think about it there is no other outcome. Dev is right to point out the fact that it was a banned player as that is key here. Too many implications to overturn this decision. See Maribor were scouting us weekend, they wont be happy either if it gets overturned
What Legia are asking CAS to do is ignore well established rules which other clubs have fallen foul of in the past. Legia were not "Kicked out", nor were they treated unfairly, they were treated exactly as any other club would be, by forfeiting one leg of a two legged tie by 3 goals to nil. Would they still be mumping and moaning if they had won the first leg 5-1 ? Of course they would'nt, so basically what they are whining about is the rules not suiting them in this particular set of circumstances. In reality as far as i'm concerned, any team who plays a suspended player should have been given a straight expulsion from the tournament never mind a 0-3 defeat.
