Last time I checked "Celtic Football Club was formally constituted at a meeting in St. Mary's church hall in East Rose Street, Calton, Glasgow, by Irish Marist Brother Walfrid on 6 November 1887, with the purpose of alleviating poverty in the East End of Glasgow by raising money for the charity Walfrid had instituted. Brother Walfrid had only charitable motives for the club." I agreed with the Liega owner, Celtic have acted poorly and unprofessionally by effectively dingying phones, and against the supposed values of the club. How refreshing it could have been for Celtic to let Liega back in because they deserved it, we would have got worldwide recognition as the type of club we want people to think we are, people will be happy to see us embarrassed in the groups now. We would still have enjoyed the hun beel from being reinstated, and probably got even more if we had acted with that kind of dignity. A real chance missed to enhance our reputation, sold for a cpl of million quid that the fans will never see. I would have been proud to be Celtic if they done it. And even if they didnt want to do it, at least answer the phone and tell Liega straight, pathetic.
I agree with most of that apart from the bit about us acting unprofessionaly. What's to talk about? Nothing. Celtic can't change anything and it's not Celtic who have been tugging at heartstrings with pathetic appeals to sportsmanship and talk of the Lisbon Lions. Legia's issue is with UEFA and has always been with UEFA, Celtic can do nothing but wait to see what's decided in Nyon tomorrow and all the telephone conversations in the world won't change a thing. Legia ****ed up, not Celtic. It would be good manners to have nice talks with the various telesales people who phone me, but when I see a withheld number i'm under no obligation to answer my phone.
No I think they're dirty fascists But even dirty fascists have been known to play fair
I don't care if they've been a model of integrity, i'm not for giving them £20m for nout just because they feel hard done by.
It's not really for nothing They did scump us Ok the rules put us through but if it's true that we could have let Legia through in our stead then 20 million wouldn't buy you the goodwill we would have received from that decision More than a business
5 year with no CL money and downsizing to the point of being an irrelevance? no thanks! I thought we had already done the "right thing" by sticking to the rules, anything Legia say after the event has no bearing, as the appeal board will show. If my club was acting like Legia I'd be ****ing embarrassed
It's not true. The rules don't have a clause for a team stepping aside, not that i've seen. No club in the world would simply step aside even if the rules allowed for it.
http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/polish-fa-chief-brands-legia-4042599 Yeah we should do the right thing and stand aside for these twats. Arse biscuits!
I know, what club would? But imagine we were that club.. I think Platini was quoted as saying we could step aside but that could just be Legia propaganda
