Finally are we all SR out?

I'm SR out now. I've given them a load of time, but aside from our promotion season, there's been **** all to celebrate on the pitch and enough is enough.

Our form since Tonda was announced as permanent manager is diabolical. We've fallen off a cliff. What's happened? The players need to have a long, hard look at themselves (yet again), but we shouldn't have appointed Still. When he was sacked, we should have had a plan to replace him sooner, rather than appointing Tonda in the interim and end up being forced to give it to him permanently. We were one of the biggest spenders in the summer (if not the biggest), and have invested badly (yet again) ruining our best shot at an immediate return to the Prem (which might not be the worst thing). It's wrong decision after wrong decision after wrong decision x20.

I got to my seat on Saturday and didn't really want to be there, even before Hull scored. The thought of not going again this season is much more appealing than continuing to spend a load of my money for no return - which ironically is what the club do constantly.

In their minor defence, I understand what they're trying to do to increase revenue, with things like the Level1 place in the Chapel (which is actually quite good) and the fanzones/pub. I quite like the fanzones, but even so the price of a pint (in a poxy plastic cup) is taking the piss. But even if all that goes to plan and revenues go up, they'll only waste it as they've proven previously.

I defended the moving of the away fans - and I do still think that our fans need to play more of a part - but it's clear that was also wrong. Different fans enjoy different things, but the lack of a back and forth between our vocal support and the away end has killed most of the enjoyment of going to St Mary's for me, it's so flat. Maybe it's hard to judge considering we've had nothing to cheer since making that change, but certainly doesn't seem to have worked based on what we've seen so far.

As it stands I certainly won't be renewing my season ticket. I suspect most of the fan anger will be released on/after Sunday when we lose to the Skates.

Is it likely that the shenanigans Dragan is facing with his media company will have an effect moving forward? I reckon there's every chance there's a fire sale this summer and he puts us up for sale.

Remember when Wolves were called everyone’s favourite Portuguese team. Are we gradually morphing into a German team? Not there yet but working on it. If it makes us better, go for it, if it’s just Spors taking the easy option, then no thanks.
Nah, cant be, Germans tend to be serial winners, us on the other hand.....

Thing is, I like the Moneyball idea but you can't get every player in every position with that formula. It works in baseball because it is a completely different ****ing sport. And it has its place in football but you need the balance of a club that has a spine and experience. We've completely done away with that and now every purchase is made with future pound signs in mind as opposed to what that player can bring to Southampton FC. So lo and behold you end up with a squad of mercenaries who were probably given the talk by their agents of "just go there, play well for a season and then push for your big move because they'll give it to you".

We have cultivated a culture of players who expect to be shipped off elsewhere and don't give a crap about what they actually bring to our club.

Possibly get laughed at for this, but with the dearth of options, I'd bite the bullet and go out and throw some money for Ralph to come back in, at least for the rest of the season. He wouldn't take any **** (and he hates Stephens, so the potential clique would get a rude wake-up call).

Always rated Ralph, even at the end he just needed backing in the window to buy a striker. If we’d not got rid of him and gave him money we’d still be in the Prem imo

Nah we wouldn't. He had loads of money spent that summer, and it was invested poorly by SR. As it has been ever since. You think they would have signed some decent players just cos Ralph was in charge?

His face didn't fit the new SR way.

Ralph was hugely unpopular, even with a squad of somewhat professional-behaving sportsmen. If he tried to crack the whip with our current bunch he would fare about as well as Juric did.

We can't be getting in a disciplinarian just for discipline's sake. Could make the situation much worse.

Not hugely disagreeing but to me it feels like we're at the point now where things will have to get worse before they get better.

Regret to differ on one aspect, the last 8 months or so with RH were poor, we just could not buy points, if the early season points accumulation had not been there we would have been relegated for sure. All of a sudden it all went downhill. It was a longer version of Tonda’s time so far this season.

I know 2009 was a horrible time, with a real danger we would fold completely, but I would happily live through that uncertainty again if it meant getting shot of this bunch of incompetent fraudsters.

Totally agree on this and aspect I hadn’t thought of at all tbf, SR record on signings has been horrific & let’s face it Ralph was never gonna be given freedom to pick signings himself.

If there is one thing Ralph was quality at though it was making the best of a bad situation and I do think even with the squad we had at the time he’d of still kept us up
