It was another good listen this - they all are when things are positive at the club!

I thought he answered a few questions well, specifically talking about how we're building primarily to play a 4-3-3 with flexibility to play other formations for the odd game where necessary. He talked about how Dejaku played as a striker for most of his youth career and how Diallo was lining up there in some pre-season friendlies for Man Utd, meaning that we're flexible enough in a striking position. Some may not accept that of course, but a balance needs to be struck between spending, keeping players happy with their game time and having cover (Speakman says we have 2 players to player every position except left back which I agree with).

The talk behind the scenes of building the staff behind the scenes sounds positive as does funding going into the women's team. It appears that our management recruitment process worked more smoothly this time too and that's in place should we need it again in the future.

Not much to update really, but it's always nice to get these insights. He's done an excellent job so far.

He did suggest however that there were lots of clubs after him and we went above and beyond to convince him - with Harvey going to meet his family etc rather than do it thru agents.
So he didnt tell us how they found out about him. Thanks for agreeing with me

I don't believe we've scored a total of 5 goals in two consecutive games this season ...

... as we've just done that, without our two strikers, it shows Speakman may well have a point.

It would be a brave manager to start a home game with a fully fit striker on the bench ...

... Bruce tried it and look what happened <laugh>
