Does anyone know where I can pick up 3 or 4 old car tyres for nowt? They don't have to be roadworthy or be in good condition as I want to use a few in me garden as planters.

I got some from a local scrappie, have you tried that?

Growing things in old tyres? If you water them regularly hopefully they'll grow well and it will be a Goodyear

On a serious note don't plant vegetables or anything you plan eating in old car tyres! Full of chemicals that the veg absorbs!

I'd go for railway sleepers myself, a bit more effort but they look miles better in my opinion.

Oddly enough when an old tyre is complete it is a dangerous thing, but when shredded the rubber bits can be used in 3G pitches.
