Livermore's going to start being seen as a problem and it's through no fault of his own.
He's being introduced into a balanced system and unbalancing it, trying to shore things up when we don't need to and making us defend a lot.

So its not just that he's a player with heart and spurs thru n thru, but he's not all that much cop?

No, it's not. He's been used as one of two holding midfielders, which simply doesn't work for us, as we've seen countless times.
 
OK this is just a bit silly as far as substitutions go, Daws on for Dempsey.

Is AVB Italian, he's sooooo defensive...

We did exactly what I feared we'd do.
Shite attitude from the players, then extremely over-negative substitutions from the manager.
We need to get somebody on the bench that can play up front, even if it is bloody Obika and we really need cover for the creative midfield role.
Promote Pritchard, Carroll or recall Luongo. Even Jenas, now that his loan's over.

Cisse wins it for the Geordies.

with 3 minutes of injury time to play and protecting a 1 goal lead what do you expect AVB to do?
throw on strikers?? give the man a break.
 
Well we won thank god! A late equaliser would have ruined the weekend. Wigan at home in the league next should be an easy 3 points as we always beat the smaller teams easily at home........
However If we do win that's 20 points out of 30 including in that playing Man U away. You can't really complain about that. And also with so many key players missing this season as well.

No, I meant that Daws should have been on for Gallas before we conceded their goal. And you tell me PNP, what sense did the Livermore and Siggy subsititutions make?
 
In the end, Saints made that easy for us by being so 5hite in the first half. If they had played their pressing-game in both halves, we could well have lost that.

Still, we are back where we belong, in 4th, with the infamous North London Power-Shift back on.

None. That's why I specifically objected to all of the subs when they happened and in post-match comments, too.
Livermore's a decent holding midfielder, but he's a **** creative player. Having him and Sandro or Parker as a pairing simply doesn't work.
Reminds me of Lucas and Mascherano at Liverpool. The Brazilian got a ton of stick, but it was the system that was wrong.
