Can any of you please give me any information on sound bars ? I know absolutely nothing about them.
Do they make the sound from the T.V. Any clearer , and have any of you got sound bars for your T.V.s ?
Are there any good ones available for 150 quid or less? ...... Thanks.

While I'm on here, must say I am dissapointed that Ben Shephard has packed it in on Goals on Sunday, he was great with Chris Kamara. I think a guy named Alex Scott is to replace him, but for the last two weeks. They have shoved yet another bloody female in with Kammy. ....... getting sick of all these Women taking everything over on Sport now, not so funny, and Male presenter has to be more careful what he says.
I think the one there is named Laura Woods.

I’ve a BOSE one, bit pricey but sound quality is stunning . It has four speakers integrated in it plus you get a sub woofer. The speaker is only small as well, about a foot long, but stunning sound when watching films.

Hey Vic. I’ve got one in the bedroom and they’re an absolute must if you’ve only got a telly. Especially if you like to watch films/sport (you hear the background noises/crowd).
Ps that bloke ‘Alex Scott’ you referenced...think you might be in for a shock :/

I got a Samsung bar and sub woofer it was about £120 @ the sound options make a huge difference to what you watch, plus music is great on it too.

Go and have a listen - I'm a sound engineer and in my experience, your ears will be the best judge - not price. I've bought a few soundbars and each time I've gone into Currys or wherever and asked to listen to a few. Connect your device - your phone or whatever using bluetooth and play a song that you are familiar with and has a wide dynamic range to it. I usually use All is Full of Love by Björk as it has wide ranging frequencies in it - it certainly tests the sub unit - if it sounds a bit muddy or wooly down the bottom end - try something else. Try a few using the same song so you can compare the more pricey options to the lower costing systems.
To be honest most are quite decent these days for 'normal' use. If you want really high end detailed audio be prepared to pay through the nose.... If it's just for watching TV and a bit of music you'll easily find something adequate.

I tried a few named soundbars from Amazon, bloody rubbish, sent them back, did not improve the Samsung TV sound so decided to get a proper Dolby 7.1 surround sound system using the optical connection, Sorted!!

If you got the space in your TV cabinet, you will get a far better quality sound from some premium 2.1 surround speaker setup, there are a few brands on Amazon that will provide superior sound to any soundbar.......<ok>

PS: Edifier R1280DB Active Remote Control Bookshelf Studio Bluetooth Speakers will outperform any top-end soundbar.
