Vetch. <ok>

Fishy: If you're not Prophet you must be the idiot twin brother who was chained up in the cellar and fed buckets of fish heads. Hence the name I suppose. <ok>

Stid, your suggestion is similar to a 'colour-coding' one I suggested myself a few years ago.

And taffthefish.... your posting style comes across as what Norway would describe as a 'stealth wum'. You're not abusive or outwardly wumming but you do seem to take an over-interest in things which don't really concern you and then bang on about it ad nauseum in a condescending and provoking manner. As a mod, I would have thought you would refrain from that sort of thing.

"I may be missing the point here".

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.

Your thread is a plea for good behaviour in the forthcoming interaction between two sets of fans',viz,Swansea and Cardiff.

I was merely pointing out that there did not appear to be a thread of similar substance posted on the Cardiff Forum.

The inference that I drew from that is you feel we,i.e. Swansea fans', hold the key to this behaviour change, and that Cardiiff fans' are in no way culpable.

I hope that clarifies my stance.

Why would you assume that I was deliberately trying to cause an argument by being obtuse? Are you trying to cause an argument by asking that question?

I see that the question asked by Vetch still hasnt been answered. If we are calling for good wholesome debate regarding football instead of slanging matches. Then surely the question should be asked of both sets of fans not just one. So, surely the conclussion according to the thread initiator is that Swansea fans are the cause of all the problems.

So lets see an answer to Vetch's question as why this has only been posted on one board.

A simple solution is to just make it easier to avoid all the crap threads if you want to.

ie set up some ground rules for both boards that the mods can easily police.

something along the lines of

When you post a new thread add 'NC' to the title if you don't want any Cardiff posters to comment or 'NW' if you don't mind if they comment as long as they don't wum. Cardiff forum can use a similar system too ie NS & NW.

The mods can easily police it by deleting any comments that don't follow those rules(without being subjected to a stupid free speech enquiry) and any persistent offenders can be warned/banned

A system like that will make it very easy to avoid 90% of the crap threads for decent posters and still allow wumfests for those that enjoy them

Nice idea but not really a workable solution. Everyone will need to remember what acronym to apply to every new thread. What happens when the thread is created without the acronym? Thread titles cannot be edited (as far as I am aware) after they have been created. I think people should be able to post valid questions or debating points on any board without fear of being banned.

aswan, fish is a very poor example of a mod. I made the suggestion a few days ago that he should resign immediately, and give someone who understands the role a chance.

I suspect that you will have to wait a long time for a response, trundle. The thread is/was a wum exercise, and it backfired. Predictable stuff.

VETCH!
I actually think the thread was intended as an olive branch. Sparks is as fed up of the abusive comments as you are.

Knackered,I don't think fish is prophet in disguise.

Prophet is/was totally insane, whereas fish is merely deluded.

So why wasnt it posted on both boards. Simple question and should be simple to answer. Arent we asking for the same thing from both sets of fans or is that not the case.

I can see why you would think that,ITIWRAN,but we've heard it all before.
The sentiment is sound, but the fact that the appeal only appeared on this Forum rather clouded it,for me anyway.Hence my post, which bore no malice, merely asked a question, which still hasn't been addressed.
Let me ask another question,if I may, since it has some relevance to the OP thread. Why has no-one on your Forum ever taken hughs to task over his excesses? Please don't do a fish and tell me that he "self regulates",as you will disappoint me.

And those from the Cardiff or any other board who post here to do just that are more than welcome to do so. However we will not tolerate any abusive, insulting or wumming posters here <ok>

People communicate in a variety of ways. Some people can't get through a sentence without swearing at least once. I tend to see words on a computer screen as just that when it comes to forums. Maybe I have a higher tolerance towards those who choose to be offensive. I'm not one for censorship for the sake of it. Quite often it's just water off a ducks back to me.

I have confidence in the more experienced supermods to deal with content which breaks the rules on this forum.
