I dont hate Hughes, I just don't think he's a particularly good manager.

He's certainly not a bad Manager as is proven by the jobs he's done. Blackburn, Wales, City, Fulham, QPR and Stoke. He did well in four jobs, one's debatable and fu*ked up at one.

He's just one of those Managers that can't handle transfer money. Of the six jobs listed above, the worst he did was at moneybags QPR and then he had a mixed time at City where he got decent results but squandered a lot of cash on a lot of dross. Managers like that are decent if they have a strong, preferably football-minded Chairman holding the reigns and keeping them on a tight leash. He did a great job at Stoke last year. Not only did he get them their highest ever finish but he transformed the way they played in the process. All in one season.

What he did to us though can never be overstated. It was utterly disastrous.

Good, balanced post Swords - he was like a kid in the candy store during the transfer market!

I've got better memories of us under Hughes in the Premier League than Redknapp. Given a sensible chairman we might have consolidated under him as he has proven before. We need to cheer the team on tomorrow not waste our time giving the opposition manager stick

No we most definitely cannot all agree on this!

Hughes made mistakes in the transfer market, it wasn't intentional, it wasn't as if he was trying to get it wrong on purpose ffs. Now I agree his time was a disaster but he just wasn't the right fit for our club this does no take him cnut!!! thats just stereotypical macho football fan BS you are spouting. It's this sort of negative energy that could very well back fire come Saturday.

Typical comment for a high horse brigade member

The best way to express our displeasure of Mark Hughes to get 3 points.
You starting up front? Me right wing? I'm better than SWP but still reckon we would be better off leaving it to the actual players to get the 3 points.

Agree totally, give the prick a torrid time & make HQ a loud, hostile environment!
Yes he didn't intentionally get it wrong but he didn't take any responsibility for any of his piss poor decisions/signings.

Exactly what i mean. He didnt do it on purpose but thats irrelevant. He did do it!! and was paid £2 million+ for doing it then rather than resigning- he was dishonourable and stayed on and picked up an extra £4- 6 million pay off to add to our financial woes that he refused to take his share of responsibility for.

If I was that bad at my job i wouldn't get an extra weeks wages. Let alone an extra 2 years wages.

While the atmosphere at Sunderland and Hull was ... okay. It will be the fans who feel carry that displeasure at Hughes with them who will crank it up a notch. If thats 'macho football fan BS' then i'm fine with that. As i said not going to be booing him for 90 minutes. But if you approach games like this with an unaltered mentality to Sunderland and Hull then it would be like the Emirates or Carrow Road... Vanilla

Understand though that every club has a section of the fan base that is vanilla- lets hope that is outweighed tomorrow

Other aspect of this is as is coming through here. Hughes was bad for us but did well other places. Arry same same and not much different.

Harry's taking the piss surely?:

HARRY Redknapp is confident QPR fans will remember Mark Hughes's good work at Queens Park Rangers when he makes his first return to Loftus Road since being sacked.

Harry's script writer is, like here, sometimes very, very good. As good as anything I've read from Austin (Jane, not Charlie).
We (although I won't be at HQ) have got to get the balance right: Give him a lot of stick, give their players an uncomfortable lunch-time experience, but support the team when in possession.
