I've just watched some total bullshit 'Better In' propaganda video, a sad little gimp going around asking people for a quid and when they give him one (those who do) he gives them a tenner back, then they end their stupid video with this... "For every pound you put into the EU, you get £10 back"... literally thousands of people are believing this crap, tree hugging Corbyn zombies who will literally believe anything that is put in front of them...

If we get a tenner back for every quid we put into the EU, then how the hell are we coming out with a huge deficit every year?

Let me guess, it's not an actual tenner, it's vouchers, for Jihadi's... we can have as many Jihadi's as we like at 30p a pop.

I've never been more out.
That's where i am coming from, there has been no actual sound advice to influence me to stay in.
Another poster said ages ago, if we were out of the EU would you vote to join??

Reactions: The Relic
Jeremy Corbyn has stated they can be no upper limit on immigration should we vote to stay in the EU.

Thanks pal, that'll be another little bit of momentum towards the leave vote <ok>

He's potentially far more dangerous for this country with his immigration policy, than even Blair and Brown.

Starting to really despise the Labour party.

He'd allow Sharia Law, of that I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever.

It's a crying shame that him and his brother were not drowned at birth.

Boris on video saying hed welcome a single market.

Dont trust any off them. Vote how you feel.

Well I've spent a good few hours researching both sides with an open mind and must admit I'm still split down the middle. Obviously being in Europe is costing us money but will it even out in the end with the benefits I can't be sure. I'm all for self determination also but has it really mattered which clowns we vote into power either. The term serial politician who has not been voted into place does worry me as I don't know the level of oversight given to them. Does exiting just mean we are trying to run away from world problems that will still be there even if we leave. Really am undecided at this point.

My view is that exiting is entering the real world in a way that will allow our voice to be heard in a meaningful way. By doing so we will be addressing world problems directly. In the EU we are 1 of 28 others and their voice is represented by unelected unaccountable bureaucrats, who I wouldn't trust to do anything other than look after themselves and their own cushy numbers. I strongly object to the likes of merkel, juncker, tusk and the rest spouting off threats and warnings of how they'll kick us if we leave. And I would like an end to the Kinnocks gold plated family junket.

Sovereigntry! Is that near Coventry? Not the sharpest match in the box, is he.

A bit like the van i saw at the weekend with a poster stating "Vote Out, To Rid Britain of Rancid Politicians". Righto pal, not sure you get it.

I COULD assume that this message is MEANT to highlight quality of the average MEP.

Compared to that lot our home grown money grubbing shysters are angels.

However if a placard or message needs to be explained then you are right. He aint got it!!!

The Torys decided to have a referendum on weather to stay or go then they thought " give the public a choose they never make the right way. They voted use in."

Not, I feel, a strictly accurate assessment of recent History.

Edward Heath's Tory Government took us into The EU, in 1973 but without any Referendum.

Then, in 1975 Harold Wilson's Labour Government gave the population a second chance and held a Referendum which asked, basically, should we stay OR get out.
The vote in favour of remaining was about 2 to 1.

This Referendum is the first that the Tory Party have offered us and I suspect that the REAL reason for doing so was to shut up the Anti-Europe Members in the Party. (The assumption being that there would be another substantial YES vote).

With the benefit of hindsight something of a miscalculation I'd say, BUT WHO KNOWS.

I expect we will have a better idea by Friday Night!!!

Aye . . . . probably :emoticon-0105-wink:

Just lifted from Facebook, thought some people may be interested...

Cadbury moved factory to Poland 2011 with EU grant.
Ford Transit moved to Turkey 2013 with EU grant.
Jaguar Land Rover has recently agreed to build a new plant in Slovakia with EU grant, owned by Tata, the same company who have trashed our steel works and emptied the workers pension funds.
Peugeot closed its Ryton (was Rootes Group) plant and moved production to Slovakia with EU grant.
British Army's new Ajax fighting vehicles to be built in SPAIN using SWEDISH steel at the request of the EU to support jobs in Spain with EU grant, rather than Wales.
Dyson gone to Malaysia, with an EU loan.
Crown Closures, Bournemouth (Was METAL BOX), gone to Poland with EU grant, once employed 1,200.
M&S manufacturing gone to far east with EU loan.
Hornby models gone. In fact all toys and models now gone from UK along with the patents all with with EU grants.
Gillette gone to eastern Europe with EU grant.
Texas Instruments Greenock gone to Germany with EU grant.
Indesit at Bodelwyddan Wales gone with EU grant.
Sekisui Alveo said production at its Merthyr Tydfil Industrial Park foam plant will relocate production to Roermond in the Netherlands, with EU funding.
Hoover Merthyr factory moved out of UK to Czech Republic and the Far East by Italian company Candy with EU backing.
ICI integration into Holland’s AkzoNobel with EU bank loan and within days of the merger, several factories in the UK, were closed, eliminating 3,500 jobs
Boots sold to Italians Stefano Pessina who have based their HQ in Switzerland to avoid tax to the tune of £80 million a year, using an EU loan for the purchase.
JDS Uniphase run by two Dutch men, bought up companies in the UK with £20 million in EU 'regeneration' grants, created a pollution nightmare and just closed it all down leaving 1,200 out of work and an environmental clean-up paid for by the UK tax-payer. They also raided the pension fund and drained it dry.
UK airports are owned by a Spanish company.
Scottish Power is owned by a Spanish company.
Most London buses are run by Spanish and German companies.
The Hinkley Point C nuclear power station to be built by French company EDF, part owned by the French government, using cheap Chinese steel that has catastrophically failed in other nuclear installations. Now EDF say the costs will be double or more and it will be very late even if it does come online.
Swindon was once our producer of rail locomotives and rolling stock. Not any more, it's Bombardier in Derby and due to their losses in the aviation market, that could see the end of the British railways manufacturing altogether even though Bombardier had EU grants to keep Derby going which they diverted to their loss-making aviation side in Canada.
39% of British invention patents have been passed to foreign companies, many of them in the EU
The Mini cars that Cameron stood in front of as an example of British engineering, are built by BMW mostly in Holland and Austria. His campaign bus was made in Germany even though we have Plaxton, Optare, Bluebird, Dennis etc., in the UK. The bicycle for the Greens was made in the far east, not by Raleigh UK but then they are probably going to move to the Netherlands too as they have said recently.

Anyone who thinks the EU is good for British industry or any other business simply hasn't paid attention to what has been systematically asset-stripped from the UK. Name me one major technology company still running in the UK, I used to contract out to many, then the work just dried up as they were sold off to companies from France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, etc., and now we don't even teach electronic technology for technicians any more, due to EU regulations.

I haven't detailed our non-existent fishing industry the EU paid to destroy, nor the farmers being paid NOT to produce food they could sell for more than they get paid to do nothing, don't even go there.
I haven't mentioned what it costs us to be asset-stripped like this, nor have I mentioned immigration, nor the risk to our security if control of our armed forces is passed to Brussels or Germany.

Find something that's gone the other way, I've looked and I just can't. If you think the EU is a good idea,
1/ You haven't read the party manifesto of The European Peoples' Party.
2/ You haven't had to deal with EU petty bureaucracy tearing your business down.
3/ You don't think it matters.
Anyone know how to put this up on the Southampton site? (they've got a politics thread)

There is an old saying ..."You reap what you sow".. The fact that we vote for a party that benefits the rich more times than we vote for a party that aims for a fairer society tells me that the majority of the people in this country fall for the hype generated by the elite owned media. The EU referendum has done nothing to change my views on this.

But didn't most of the toffs advise us to Remain? True, the majority in Scotland and N. Ireland did what you say, but the majority in England and Wales didn't. Unless I've misread you, mate.

£ sterling = up 1% this morning.
FTSE100 = up 2.5% this morning.
FTSE250 = up 3.5% this morning.

Still a way to go to recover from last Thursday's panic, but it's calming down a bit now. :emoticon-0148-yes:
