They've messed with the game too much imo. It's not just the 20/20's, I was never in favour of the power play overs in One Dayers. All that eventually has an impact on the Test game. Then you have the money from the likes of the IPL. You factor all that in and players only want to develop in one way. The Chris Gayle of the 70's and 80's would've been 10 times the player of the modern era.

Twenty20 has been great for the game though. An old tradionionalist like me may think it's not a patch on the long game, but it's brought the sport to a massive audience and reversed a steady decline - especially in India.
