Is this FACT? That's disgusting. I was thinking of taking up swimming as a fitness thing I could do without jogging or cycling.

Swimming in piss and ****... Nah ta :emoticon-0119-puke:

Well, I was being a tad over the top. Chloramines (both di and tricholoramines) are the smell you get at a swimming baths, they're a mixture of disinfectants (which are put into the pool to kill germs) and bodily oils and fluids that enter the pool from swimmers. It doesn't mean people are pissing/****ting in the pool, it means they haven't showered properly before they went in.

That's better. :emoticon-0100-smile

Generally though, when it's smelling, it's the pool balance that's out, (langelier) and that's more a case of the wrong pH or too many other chemicals (dissolved solids) such as flocculants etc. A well balanced pool would cope with the loading. <ok>

Yeah, I mean Trichloramine is very pungent and if you've got a lot of them, then the pH is going to be far too high. I seem to remember Goole swimming baths struggling with this. That and their ****ty light/band system for timing. Did a decent hot dog though.

****, drifting off topic. Playoffs? No, not this year.

It's generally the pH that's the driver though, inducing things such as chlorine lock. When people smell it, it's rarely due to too much chlorine. Do you tell them about the top six inches....

I think just having a chillaxing rest of the season's well deserved. <ok>
