Eddie may have plenty of cash, but unfortunately he's not a well man at all and I should think the last thing he would want at the moment is take on a football club, particularly as he never had any interest in football.
If the Allams can pump so much money in, why can't they just chuck in another £10 million so we can be like Leicester and buy the league, then go round bragging to everyone. Not good enough IMO.
I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I was hoping they'd done it as a loan. Even if it was 0% and repayable at the club's choosing I just wanted us to retain the ability to repay them without it getting into the dividends/tax issues there now would be.
I think it's just personal pride in having paid for everything I've got (or being in the process of it). If someone paid my mortgage off for me (any offers?) I'd want to at least repay them what they'd spent, I needed extra money when I bought my place and I wouldn't let people give me it rather than lending it.
I suppose as a club we're now worth whatever they've invested more than we would be if they'd loaned the cash and they own all the shares so it's just been a conversion of money, but that's about the best rationalisation I can put on it.

The Allams saved my club. Not only that, they allowed us to be competative in one of the toughest leagues in the world. Assem has seen very rough times back in his own country and feels the need to to give something back.

I'm certain that the Healys have previously put money into Hull City when we needed it and relatively large amounts at times. Unfortunately they have no interest in becoming a public benefactor for us

your agenda confuses me, some of your other posts are measured and positive yet get you on the allams topic (aka the saviours of our football club) and you just spout deluded conspiracy theory nonsense.
see it's when you refer a financial outlay of £41 million (which saved a club you claim to support) with no guaranteed returns as 'the odd good deed' it just undermines any points you make and causes you to sound ridiculous
I seem to remember from your last rant a few weeks ago, your main concern was that the Allams just pull their money out, which would leave the club in a dangerous situation. As far as I can see, they have pumped into the club £40m +, which basically has been spent on paying off old debt. If they had made it a loan, they could then decide to call in their loans at any time, which would then put the club in serious financial position. As it stands at the moment the money they have put in, has been spent, so your concerns have been irradicated.
On your point on them making it a loan, and then taking back their money when the club became viable, the chances of that happening are remote as football clubs generally never get to that position.

The plan always was to let the supporters buy into the club. But the fact is that the money put into the club by the Allam family, made that impossible.

As I said earlier as well, withdrawing funds from the club to produce a profit now would also be rather inefficient from a tax point of view, either income if done as a dividend, or capital gains (we're talking about making a profit) if it's through the sale of shares to another individual or to the club itself (reducing number of issued shares).
What, leaving us in the hands of Bartlett would have made them heroes would it?
**** sake, if someone comes in and gives Leeds a few hundred million they're not going to be seen as saviours and heroes if they leave the club in Bates' hands to strip it bare again.
