But you didn't just call a Celtic fan a fenian - my best mate supported St Mirren and was helpfully called a fenian by some adults because of the colour of his school uniform.
Fenian wasn't ever used to signify a Celtic fan - being a Catholic meant that they were more likely to be a Celtic fan but that's not how it was ever used.
Where my family are from in Aberdeen, Hun is used by protestants to describe Rangers fans.
I don't give a flying one if you get offended being called a nasty name because of the team you support - it happens to supporters of every team all over the world.
It is not in the same vein, however, for (for example) Arsenal or Milan or Feyenoord fans to call Spurs or Inter or Ajax fans "k***s" or some other slur.
I've said before that I don't care what names I get called (even if I don't like being called them, you should be allowed to call me them) but this trying to make hun offensive nonsense is total "we cannae dae it tae them" whitabootery.
If I was a mod, I'd put forward a motion stating that any thread that descends into this "hun is sectarian", "naw it isnae" bollocks should get deleted.

Why do you feel the need to answer for him? It's a simple question and one I would have thought he himself was best qualified to answer, not you.
Of course the word "rebel" doesn't offend me. Why would it?

But Dev, Rebel and Stereo have all admitted to using the term hun "to cause offense".
So Celtic fans use the word Hun to cause offense, that will get you into bother.
I'm not saying I agree with the legislation, but this is where we are, so you better adapt and deal with the fact that Hun is now offensive, just like Paki is NOW offensive.

No, I use the word Hun to mean a Rangers fan. If I call someone a Hun **** it's because a) they support Rangers and b) they're a ****.

If someone finds it offensive then tough ****. I have no problem with offensive. If people are being racist or sectarian on the Celtic board and someone complains about it I have to act. That's what happened with Calatron (among much else).
Calling someone a Paki is racist. Calling someone a Paki **** is racist. Calling someone a **** if offensive.
You cant tell people what they are and are not offended by, especially considering the context in which the word "hun" is being used by Celtic fans on this forum.
Calling someone a "jock" simply means they are Scottish but chances are someone out there finds it offensive. Ridiculous? Maybe but you cant tell someone NOT to be offended can you?
Besides, if you use the word "****" after just about any word the preceding word automatically becomes derogatory and therefore offensive does it not?
Okay, I should have been clearer. The word Hun is not offensive to me. As for your final sentence I just highlighted that very point in my last post.

What a load of contradictions.
Why is something racist ST? Because it causes offence.
Offensive behaviour at football grounds will be dealt with by the courts.
Because it's specific to that person's race and is used in a derogatory manner.

How about this for an idea?
We all call each other whatever nasty names we like on this forum and forums like it while never daring to utter such words to complete strangers in the real world for fear of severe personal injury or simply being perceived by the rest of humanity as a total arsehole.

No, it's offensive to an entire race because the word has come to mean something derogatory.
The word Hun means Rangers fan so unless you're suggesting a Rangers fan is offensive I'm afraid you're losing this argument.
