What gets me is that people STILL don't get what the whole charade means in the grand scheme of things. "Offensive" songs and behaviour at football grounds will (allegedly) be punsihed by the courts. Not just sectarian and racist. If Rangers fans are being offended because they believe that the word hun is being used to describe them in a derogatory manner, be it religous or otherwise, then that word will be banned and the users face jail time. Offensive is the operative word. Word.
So a "hun" is a German and you think all Germans are/were troublemakers? Would you call a German person a "hun"? If not why not? Mr Rebel thinks "hun" simply means "Rangers fan", even though he goes on to admit that he uses this term to deliberately cause offence. Which begs the question, why would a Rangers fan be offended by being called a Rangers fan? Further clarification is required here gents.
No, I'll call you whatever I want, likewise, you can do the same because I don't claim to be some standard bearer for the anti-sectarian/anti-racist not606 movement like your comrade Rebel.
I don't care if you claim to be a Rocket Scientist, the simple fact of the amtter is that you cannot see the difference between what you did and what ST did. He says Calatron's posts were sectarian and offensive, were mine? In a word...No. But you deleted them anyway.
"1. A member of a nomadic pastoralist people who invaded Europe in the fourth and fifth centuries a.d. and were defeated in 455. 2. often hun A barbarous or destructive person. 3. Offensive Slang Used as a disparaging term for a German, especially a German soldier in World War I." So you wouldn't call a German a "hun" but you feel it's perfectly OK to generalise the entire Rangers support as nomadic pastoralists, barbarians or German soldiers from World War One? Or are you referring to some other meaning of the word "hun"?
These pricks just want to be offended, sorry is prick offensive too? Maybe we should ban the use of that word.
so because it offends, it has to be racist or sectarian? No harm to you, but that is an utterly stupid argument.
where did I claim to be some standard bearer for the anti-sectarian/anti-racist not606 movement? I said I deplore racism and sectarianism....and I do.
I have to laugh at these bold fellows, bleating about the use of the word "Hun" and how it is offensive/racist/sectarian. Strange thing is they have never -as far as i'm aware -complained about the language in daily use by Girvan, an outspoken and obvious bigot. His ****e must just be harmless inoffensive banter.
