When he speaks it with honesty and integrity. He's held himself to a high standard his entire career. He's never been any thing but professional and respected and he loves the club. I saw him speak about coming back and that one motivation was the way other players hadn't less than professional here and he was determined not to allow that to continue.
As for his coaching credentials I'll admit I don't know if he's done any badges etc but I believe him to have the kind of understanding of the game that translates to management. In central midfield he's had to be adept at reading the game and his history as captain almost everywhere he's played show his obvious leadership credentials.
But as the title implies, its a bit of a gamble to say the least.
