And a punch in the mouth if you don’t like itThere should be a facility, on here, whereby you can give someone a Gold Star rather than just a 'like'.

You must be a labour man because they lose nearly every argumentI have found the term snowflake is used a lot on political forums by people who have lost the argument.

ClassI have found the term snowflake is used a lot on political forums by people who have lost the argument.

He was talking to me and I thought it was hilarious. It's just how people choose to see things.OH god, I'm crushed
I see it as just both sides lashing out because whenever I see the word snowflake used in political banter/arguments, it is usually followed by the word gammon from the opposing side.I have found the term snowflake is used a lot on political forums by people who have lost the argument.

No much else to say, really.

I lived in France for years and had regular 'debates' about respect.
The French insisted that 'vous' should always be used, instead of 'tu' when referring to anyone you weren't familiar with, anyone older, policemen, etc.
For anyone who doesn't know, both terms mean 'you' in English.
I would deliberately, to be obtuse, use tu with everyone.
When challenged I'd say I showed my respect in the tone of my voice, and body language, rather than the formalised structure of a language.
As you rightly say, it's a question of perception based on prejudice and preconceived ideas.
I respect you, which you rightly perceive, so you can take a joke even at your own expense.
Someone who doesn't believe they deserve respect will automatically take offence.
As far as I'm concerned the fault is with 'the offended' and not with me.

So what did they say if you repeated the word tu?
Is that a train coming..
Say no more, the term was popularised by Populist Donald Trump iirc. Same as fake news being any truth that he doesn't like. Trump even refuses to speak to Fox news because they don't go along with his lies. Tell the people what they want to hear whether it is truth, lies or somewhere in between and they overlook the rest. For the record it is usually used by racist, sexist bigots on political forums who use the term when challenged..

So you were always an awkward sod?
