Ah **** just thought, having Snod RM might make Brucey push Elmo to RB, hope to god it doesn't happen but imagine I'll be disappointed
AKCJ - I think you're wrong here. The amount of points you won the league by only works as a comparison to the rest of the league. Only Burnley and QPR were in that league so you can only make any comparison to those two teams. City, Cardiff and Palace fans last year probably all thought we only needed a few. I remember being surprised we got Huddlestone and Livermore since Meyler and Quinn were already two of our best players in the Championship, but now I'd think we were weakened without one of them. I'm sure you'll sign more than 2-3 players and I think there'a a good chance you'll pay high wages too. Similar to us. With Walsh you might end up getting some better foreign gambles than we did/do, which might save some money, but I still think you'll be surprised if you expect to only sign 2-3 players.
If SB doesn't know that Rosie is twice the right back that Elmo is, then he's not the manager I think he is.
Note the word "key" when I say we'll sign 2-3 players. We've already signed 3 players. Albrighton will probably rotate with Knocky on the right of midfield. Upson was signed for the experience off the pitch more than on it (be suprised if he ever starts barring injuries) and Hamer will play in the cups. I think we'll sign two key players (i.e. one of the first on the teamsheet). You signed Huddlestone, Livermore, McGregor, Graham, Davies, Sagbo and Figueroa who all played a large number of games and then added Jelavic and Long in January. We just won't be doing that. Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore/NEW Schlupp/NEW Knocky/Albrighton Drinkwater NEW James Mahrez NEW
Welcome Snoddy..... Brady and Ince on the left, Snoddy and Elmo down the right....Someone's going to get their arses slapped....
You've signed your 3 players already. Coming to think of it I think you're right. Vardy will certainly be running rings around the likes of Kompany and Terry. Nugent will carry on his sparkling premier league career by banging them in like he always has done at his level. Morgan and Upson will be such a formidable partnership against the nippy, agile forward players in the premier league. Walcott and co will meet manage to get in behind them. Matty James will absolutely boss the midfield, Toure, Mata etc. will be left perplexed and completely out of the game. And in the event you are in need of a goal Angelina Ballerina can just intentionally step on someone's foot and throw himself to the floor for a clear penalty. You're completely right. You're definitely a ready made premier league proven side, I mean the evidence if ever it were needed is there for all to see with how brilliantly this squad of players did against premier league opposition in the cups last season.
I obviously don't know your team as well as you do, but I can never understand the love for Wes Morgan. Every time I've seen him he looks like Faye - bit of a monster but just hoofs it randomly after winning it, almost as if in celebration at a good tackle. He also looks pretty slow, I'd have thought you'd need someone quicker. I guess that's why we got rid of Hobbs last summer. He isn't pacey whereas pace is among Chester and Davies' list of qualities. You can't have the lumbering, wasteful centre half at this level.
Why do the Leicester lot hang around here like dog **** and get everywhere, ruining all the threads with their blather.
Not sure where you've got that from. He's been superb at winning the ball and giving it to Drinkwater. He's not exactly rapid, but I wouldn't call him slow but he reads the game very well and we have Moore and Wasyl who are quick. In fact, we hit the fewest long balls out of any side in the division last season. To call Morgan lumbering and wasteful is completely wide of the mark.
You mean a win, a narrow loss and a loss against the Champions? Yeah, awful. The funny thing is, our record against those sides matched yours
It's so good it's only got 10 players in it. That "NEW" up front on his own is going to have to be good to hold up play AND score goals with only a four-man midfield.
It's just from what I've seen, which admittedly isn't much, but I've definitely seen him doing it. He reminds me of when we went up with Wayne Brown in terms of the 'he's not quick but he reads the game well' thing. And he just got ****ed for pace in the only game he started.
You may have seen him doing it for Forest, a bit like the long-balling Davies did regularly for Brum.
It was definitely for you. I'm not on about hoofing up to a big man as a long ball tactic, I mean after winning the ball just clearing it out of a lack of composure. Like Faye did at times for us, and Bruce in fact.
Well you may have seen it at the end of narrow games that we're leading and are under pressure to keep in front. But i'm talking about a handful of times in his 2 and a half seasons here. It's one of your most ill informed opinions on us mate.
I had assumed that James Mahrez was a player I'd never heard of. Clearly it's the top class Matty James and an Algerian who's going to score the winner against Germany.
