We need this, most other grounds can manage to do it. People say we need to be vocal and encouraging, but by the 2nd half I'm about falling asleep from nicotine withdrawal, and I really can't be arsed to do anything but sit there quietly.

It's a bit sad really.

Not really much encouragement to give up is it. What next free needle exchange?

if ya can't go a full match without a cig, it's embarrasing, canny stand though the blokes in the toilet having crafty cigs in the toilets

This is an increasing trend at football grounds.

At least half a dozen clubs allowed people outside to smoke at away games last season.

Some clubs, like Barnsley, always allowed it as they have a large open area. Others, like Peterborough, say your not allowed, but ignore smokers in the outside areas. Others, like Forest, allow you outside the ground to a fenced off area, where you can smoke, drink and buy food.

This was discussed at the FLAG meeting, as the club want people to arrive at games earlier and leave later and they're not going to achieve this if people are gagging to get out the ground for a cig at the end of a match.

Do you mean to say you're challenging Perky's fixation?

I just don't get why clubs would make it easier for fans to kill themselves.

On a side note, how ****ing thick do you have to be to smoke nowadays anyway?

So Adam Pearson wants people to get cancer.

That's all I'm getting from this.

it just aint cancer, COPD consists of a number of diseases usually triggered by smoking which ends in a slow lingering death.

Having witnessed not only my father die of Lung Cancer, I had to go through it all again .
Having 5% lung capacity, gasping for every breath.
It's a very hard habit to give up and people who smoke are usually in self denial.
I say ban it totally in public places, for there own good!!

Ahh!!! got that off my chest<steam>cough

Some of us like to fund the NHS and try and keep pubs in business.

There are many things that people do that are either unhealthy, or risky, but life wouldn't be much fun if we avoided them all.

I've seen more people die due to booze related things than smoking.

Im not going to try and suggest smoking is good for you, but nor is plenty of other things.
