The old **** full time groundsman been fobbing his duty off and using his contacts to get free tickets to give to some schmucks while they badly made the pitch worse

Why not be told to leave the pitch?
You're sacked.. but erm you can stay till youre done.. doing your terrible job..

Mountain over mole hill
And in this case it really ****ing is..**** divitors

Is it just me that doesn't give two ****s about this and thinks it is far from a stick to hit Jnr with? We all complain the pitch is **** and we have had volunteers doing it with exactly what expertise? So we look to replace them with fully qualified skilled, professional employees.

Lets not bother with a physio or sports science team either, when we can go back to the days of a former player who blagged a job and knows little more than how to carry a bucket and sponge.
Glad to hear you think our stewards are fully qualified, skilled, professional types. Though any evidence of those qualities as they are stewarding are sadly lacking.

The stewards will not be doing it all the time. They did it once.

As I already said, I took the club statement at face value. If they're lying then it's a different matter.

Has your account been hacked by Patty? Or a six year old?

The only slight issue with this is the way they were removed from the position and i honestly believe they made a bigger deal than it really was

They got asked to leave... should they really have got a queens parade?

There really is nothing wrong with getting rid of them

If you think there was nothing wrong with the way things were handled then you are an even bigger idiot than some of your posts suggest you are.

Do you really think that those in charge at Hull City didn't know that 6 volunteers came on the pitch at the end of the match and put the divots back? The club statement thanks them for their work over years. If you think you are right then you know the club are being dishonest in their statement, so why believe the rest?

According to the report in the paper they were told to leave because they had free tickets not because their work wasn't up to standard.

In every employment I've had, when staff have been finished or leave on their own accord they usually get a thank you chat from a senior manager, a good luck card and a small present. The divoters could have been invited to the Spurs match, presented with a shirt signed by all the players with the club properly recording "our appreciation of the hard work ... over the years". Alternatively they could have been offered re-training up to the standard required, that's if that part of the statement bears any resemblance to the truth.

Instead they were allowed to turn up for work as usual and then 20 minutes later, asked by a match day steward after being quizzed about their free tickets to leave. This season Hull City will have a turnover of around £100 million and this is how they treat 6 long-term volunteers.

Their treatment sums up everything that is wrong with our club.

So it's taken all these years to realise they're no good.
Do you really believe our owners ???

How complicated can replacing divots be?
Even if it was deceptively difficult, surely the current divoters would have mastered the art by now?
Is there a readily-recruitable corps of time-served master divoters waiting to step up?

Maybe it would have made more sense to recruit a master divoter to supervise the failing divoters, as they are already in place and maybe only need a moderate amount of overseeing?
I'm looking forward to an overhaul of our programme sellers and eventually our stewards.

All this on the weekend we slip into the bottom 3 with 2 games left. Focus much?

Decent post

Not sure whether you're serious or sarcastic though.:emoticon-0112-wonde

"The new system will see qualified, registered and paid staff cover the post-match repair work for both football and rugby in order to improve the longevity and quality of the playing surface."

I
do hope the new 'supporters committee' will monitor the quality of the new 'divot operatives' :

Gardening Qualifications
There are various ways to achieve a horticultural qualification - often for less than the cost of a good lawnmower. Whatever aspect of horticulture you are involved in, there will be relevant courses and qualifications available. Gardening courses can range from 6 months to a few years depending on the level of expertise you require. More information about gardening qualifications can be found below.

We encourage gardeners to seek formal training for their personal and professional development. Many of our members have more than one qualification.

It's not about putting sods back though is it?

It's about how the sods in charge got rid of the divoters (is that a real word?).

In the real world, don't 'team leaders' get their staff together and gently let them down?

But being marched off the premises. FFS. That's called being a big ****ing bully (rehab)

Crowdfunding for unfair dismissal case...

Unfairly Dismissed by Stadium Management Company

Introduction – fighting for the jobs we love

We are the KCOM stadium groundsmen. We have 55 years unblemished service between us. Despite total dedication (and a good few awards) during this period we were sacked in April for gross misconduct for what we believe to be quite ridiculous and extremely hurtful allegations. With the support and backing of our friends, families and legal advisors we are determined to fight for justice.

We don't want the inevitable attention this may bring but we had no other option if we were to fight for the jobs we love and to clear our names. This is not just for us but for our wives, parents and children. We're proud men who have always taken immense pride in our work. We wouldn't normally be able to afford a legal challenge like this against such formidable opposition. There is no access to legal aid and we didn’t earn big salaries so we hope the people at SMC understand why we had no choice but to take this route. We look forward to the day we can hold our heads high again and get back to work providing both Hull City and Hull FC with a playing surface both clubs and their fans can be proud of.

Think they need to move on to be honest. I didn't go down this route when I was sacked after meeting my new boss for 10 minutes, purely cos he wanted to hire a ****ing gorgeous but seriously lacking woman instead. I laughed to myself when he was sacked himself 9 months later and the girl sent packing after doing a woeful job which just made me look better in everybody's eyes.

Perhaps these men can seek similar solace when the Allams go and we're left with a **** pitch.
