Still seems odd that Slutski came alone in June and didn't appoint a trusted scout until October who he then asked to muck in with coaching?

My post about Slutsky after 16 games in Championship.
I watched all 16 games, thx for Russian streamer, who gave me a links to the broadcast.
About pre-season and transfer window:
Slutsky came to the club at a time when the whole team was sold out.
All leaders are sold. Only Grosicki and Abel stayed in the club.
In pre-season matches Slutsky had 11-13 players with U-23 Hull players, it's a lot of players for the starting lineup? I think no.
What about money?
Hull sold Sam Clucas - 14,67 m., Harry Maguire - 12,33 m, Andrew Robertson - 8,1 m, Edin Jakupovic - 2,07 m,
Tom Huddlestone 1,98 m., Elmo - 990 k , Curtis Davis -508 k. Income - 40,65 m. + tv translation in EPL per season - Russian press wrote that Hull received a profit of 60-70 m. We take a minimum 60 m. + 40,65 m = 100,65.
Hull expenditures:
Stewart, Dicko, Toral, Kingsley, Irvine, Mazuch - 17,15 m.
100,65 - 17,15 = 83,5 m - income! But Hull don't have a EPL level players! Is it the fault of Slutsky? no.
About Defence line line - The weakest link in the team.
Who played in defence line last match? Aina - 21 years old, Max Clark - 21 years old, Tomori - 19 years old - they are level of Hull? no, they are level Hull U-23, maybe.
Let's give more time for Slutsky.
He will give the result, trust me!
Our Russia supporters believe in it.

P.S. Sorry for my English, From Russia with love :)
Decent points but the players we sold in the summer were the same players who got this club relegated and conceded 80 goals in doing so. Personally I thought it was good business although I would have liked to have kept Tom Huddlestone
We also kept Dawson, Meyler and McGregor from last season's squad. So the backbone of the team was still in place although the injury to Hermandez was a massive blow.
We have bought some talented players but it does seem as though Slutsky doesn't know how or where to play them. He also looks like a nervous wreck on the touchline and appears to offer no instructions or anything.
I think he will be given more time but a huge improvement is required quickly.

I believe that is a very fair view of how it has all panned out.

The only qualifier I would make is that Bruce got it right, more or less, for quite a while; although he did spend quite a bit to do it.

This didn't last and his performances as a manager started to be questioned. His starting formations were strange, round pegs in square holes, strange substitutions, players seemingly ostracised for no good reason; fundamentally, all of the elements of a manager who is struggling. Slutsky has moved into this state very quickly.

He has not been able to spend the same amount of money or have the same amount of time, but those basic flaws are there and there with a self- admitted lack of a solution. What compounds the situation is where we are in the league - a relegation dogfight; we need a manager with confidence in his own abilities and Slutsky is worryingly thin on that front.

I fully agree Bruce had his faults on the playing side, even though on the whole I accepted his tactics, which were basically defensive, I for one used to criticise his tactics from time to time as well as his substitutions.

The main point of my last post, was that it has become even more evident since he left that he was the glue that held the whole club together off the field as well as on it, which was no mean feat dealing with these 2 idiots.

I agree with you.

Well he could have resigned if he thought promises had been broken. If the Chelsea loans were his trump card they haven't really worked out well. Ehab probably will only put puppets in charge who just want to get into English football, but that won't help us. He's wanted managers recently who were affable (and had charisma like people felt Silva had as well) , but that just covered up the fact that they were just there to do his bidding, accept sales and get loans. The team has fallen apart under them at the end of last season and now here, no steel.

I agree with others about him sounding defeated after games, the players also look like that.
