My auld Doric Dandy Grandfather (who, like Leggo's granny, was presbyterian) always said that Fife had too many teams - he played for Cove Rangers and always maintained that the Highland League was better than the lower SFL leagues - I suppose ICT and the Staggies proved him a wee bit right
Nope. Celtic would do it (already in place to broadcast every Celtic game on the Internet and highlights. They'd sell it through the title spl tv. It would be the way forward if rangers stay in the spl also. Remember Celtic and rangers voted against a sky deal After the collapse of setanta
SO would you be suggesting that Celtic make more money out of it for already using their system that is in place. P.S. http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/e5...c7/compdetails Status: Liquidation http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/e5...c7/compdetails Status: Liquidation
Eh, was it not the other way round? Old firm wanted it because they were the safe bet, the rest wanted because it was more money?
I see that BT have bought the rights to extra Premier League games and ESPN are not going to have them - so we will need to pay some other ballbag more money to have the same level of games we have now in 2 years - if we want to keep the Scottish games on ESPN that is. Part of me is hoping the deal is ripped up to get ESPN out of the picture. We get about 2.5 million a year now from these pictures, it won't be a huge loss if the new deal is about 1.5 or 2m.
If clubs lose 300-500 fans for each home game they lose as much as the gain from the sky deal. Aberdeen, Celtic, Dundee United and Hibs would lose more than that heance they are the clubs looking to vote no. Hearts fans have also started making noises too and Motherwell fans have been presuring there directors too. The Sky deal is not as big an earner as Rangers will have you think and no Rangers with no own fans boycott is likey to be more profitable than a league with them and fans turning their back on it. Daily Record is Straw clutching with the sky deal nonsense.
Fair enough Tam, but personally I take all this fans boycott stuff with a pinch of salt. If Rangers were voted to remain in the SPL the fans may well be very angry but to turn their backs on their own club? Canny see it. Just my opinion though.
