It's funny, the Sheff Utd game (and goal) is the one that always comes to mind first when thinking of Sir Les, but that one at Scunthorpe probably summed up the man's ability just as well if not better. Plus the fact it came at a time when the hosts, under John Duncan, were flying - enjoying their best start to a season for umpteen years - and City had drawn a few too many so really needed the win (hope the memory's not failing me here). There were over 7,000 in the Old Showground, City played in that cracking white away shirt and Les scored the late winner at our end. Cue pandemonium.
The other one that stands out was the four-goal haul against Hartlepool in the last game before the Receivers were called in. Less than 3,000 rattling around Fer Ark and I'm sure Les was a guest on ITV's football highlights show the following day?
Finally, nice coverage on Sportstalk last night, including a worthy contribution from Rich G.
