I met him when I was based in Germany. He was PSV boss back then and gave a talk to us newly qualified army referees. What an absolute gent he was and is now sadly missed. God bless Bobby.

Nice one. The response to SBR's death was overwhelming and as already stated the way SJP was decked out in tributes (both b'n'white, r'n'white and many others) and the fact that they were respected and left alone by ALL supporters truly showed the respect EVERYONE had for him.

I watched him come into the SoL right up to the end. Slowly his health deteriated and his walking was bad, his last game in a chair but always dressed imaculatly in suit, shirt and tie, hat and those shoes, always shinning, A credit and I wish he had been our manager.
I had the pleasure of meeting the great man and for me it doesn't matter where he's from (Durham) or where his footballing roots lie, he could be from the moon for all i care but he was a gentleman who despite his long suffering illness always had time for others.
