I do the same every week in the woods at our golf course during the season. At least 18 times a round !
I heard that he took early retirement . It was around the time Barmby and Adam were forced out I think .
Well done to the SMC Hull FC and SMC on collision course as frustration builds over key dates The Super League club want to move a fixture to allow fans to watch but the SMC have said the date is reserved James Smailes please log in to view this image A general view of the KCOM Stadium Hull FC are unsure if they will be able to welcome fans back into the KCOM Stadium for their Super League clash with Catalans Dragons with frustration building at the club. Super League announced today that four of the round six games scheduled for the weekend of May 15 and 16, will now move to Monday May 17 to allow supporters to attend matches. Only Leeds Rhinos’ home game with Wakefield Trinity will remain as planned for Friday May 14 to allow Super League to fulfil their broadcasting commitment to Sky Sports. Hull FC have made an application to the Stadium Management Company which runs the KCOM Stadium, but have not been given the green light to switch their game to allow supporters in - much to the club's anger. Government’s relaxation of Covid guidelines mean that from Monday May 17 sports clubs are able to allow 10,000 supporters or 25 per cent of the stadium capacity into live events. Having played behind closed doors for over a year, FC are hoping to open the stadium to fans for the fixture with the Dragons, which would bring in valuable revenue while also rewarding season pass holders who have gone so long without being able to attend matches. Super League were able to confirm today plans that have been discussed for some days now to switch games, with FC notably unable to say when their match with the Dragons will take place. Nobody at FC was available to comment on the situation with regards the Catalans fixture but it’s our understanding there is a growing frustration at Hull not just around this fixture but their relationship with the SMC, owned by Hull City owners the Allam family. Relations between the SMC and FC are becoming increasingly strained, with this latest decision only adding to what is becoming a difficult situation between the parties. FC owner Adam Pearson spoke openly recently about the possibility of the rugby league club looking to relocate to their own stadium in the future. The SMC are understood to be keeping May 17 along with a number of other dates that week open due to the possibility Hull City could be involved in the play-offs. The EFL have not confirmed the play-off dates yet, as they themselves explore the possibility of fans returning. With no priority tenancy agreement in the contract between the clubs, neither has priority for fixtures, with Hull City reserving the dates in case they have a game, much to the frustration of FC who do have a game. Another obstacle to City and FC having fans back in for that week in May is the fact all potential games with fans are subject to local authority approval, with that decision taken depending on the local Covid rate, which remains high in the Hull area. Due to the SMC’s planned work on the pitch throughout May and June, the Catalans fixture is FC’s only chance to have fans at a home game until they face Huddersfield Giants on June 25. Should Hull City avoid the play-offs or be in the play-offs but not need those dates Hull FC could still switch their game, but that decision may come too late for the Black and Whites.
Got a feeling sir Adam is just trying to cause problems to help his cause, he knows full well when the potential play offs would most likely be and if Hull city where to be in them that they would be a home fixture. If he was still in charge he would be doing exactly the same as the Allams are.
https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/r ... ow-5276448 I don't see why we cannot say to the Football League, that we need an away game on both of those weekends. AP and the Allam's appear to have had a big falling out if the Allam's are now doing this
The Rod Stewart concert organised by the MKM fella, profits went to charity, was brilliant and a virtual sell out, but the ELO sold badly and tickets were massively reduced in the days leading up the show, which caused quite a bit of animosity
That's strange cos ELO are known All Over The World. Perhaps there was some Confusion over pricing. Hull's transport links don't help..A late Last Train To London might have allowed more people to attend from out of town
I recall the tickets were very expensive, something like £80 for a seat nowhere near the stage, tbf, I paid £70 for Rod in the best seats in West Stand, but it’s Rod, legend. The KC concerts when Sir Adam was in charge did a ticket deal with a crap agency, not Ticketmaster, so it was badly promoted, I remember seeing ads for the Who tour and Hull was never on it, that why it was poorly attended.
Think that was the trouble getting gigs after they were already announced elsewhere and so people booked around the country first then it was offered to the kcom
That's it. We went on a national holiday break with the ELO gig at Wembley. Our kid got some last minute tickets for the KC and I was a bit narked how cheap they was compared to ours. Had a great trip away though so not all bad.
From here...https://forums.rlfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=633544&sid=fc8b4335d7ce43fb05e09bb20a650f62 Steve & I, in conversation yesterday, had thought that Adam would be asking for VP fundraising and a subsequent donation to the club perhaps to help with pandemic loss of revenue or another project but those attending listened silently as our Club Owner was visibly moved as he documented a catalogue of interference and bullying which he and HullFC have been subjected to for the last 3 or 4 years from the SMC. I have no shorthand skills, so what I write here is only a brief list of the things which Adam reported and, as he started, he warned that there is legal action pending and that his lawyers have warned him to be circumspect but he wants the situation to be out in the open. For the last 3 or 4 years the club has faced barriers to organising our fixture list from SMC. This year, with Covid guidelines from the Government uppermost, Super League clubs were asked to play fixtures away from home after November. The SMC subsequently billed Adam for agreeing to this. As Adam was in hospital suffering with Covid he received a demand for £250,000 and these bills keep coming with his expensive London law firm successfully challenging them in court. At the start of the new season the SMC instructed Adam not to sell season passes so there was a delay in organising that. There are 2 games (Leeds & St Helens) at the end of the season when SMC say that the stadium is not available. The pitch is marvellous at the moment (according to Adam) but SMC have demanded the usual 6 weeks to be kept free for re-seeding. (He reminded us that the groundsman had been sacked for wearing HullFC tracksuit whilst at work.) Permissions for Monday evening's game was at first refused by SMC but finally agreement was reached and it will cost £53,000 to move the game. The catalogue of obstruction and financial demands made regularly kept on coming. The Stadium was built as a Community facility to be enjoyed and used by both teams with no senior tenancy. Many of the VPs present had been at the pre-move from the Boulevard meetings and spoke about the Council of the time promoting the new stadium as a facility for the people of Hull, built from the proceeds of the sale of KC telephones. There is no senior tenant, both clubs share the rights to use the ground but SMC are stating that they are the senior tenant. SMC have a duty to upkeep the stadium but little has been spent on fabric maintenance for many years, the spending mainly on security and putting obstructions in the way of the community accessing the stadium as exemplified by the erection of the barrier stopping people cutting through the perimeter to go to Hull Fair. The building is beginning to look dilapidated, HullFC had to move out of their offices because of dampness and were not allowed to extend the FC shop by knocking down a wall. There have been no concerts held to generate income and the annual profits of the SMC are half of what they were when Adam ran it. How many of us saw Rod Stewart rocking the night away or Elton John. I saw Brian Adams in 2004 in the rain! Many of these things we have read about but Hull Daily Mail and Radio Humberside are not welcome by the HullCity personnel. The council have been on the fence for years and are afraid to tackle the increasing number of issues but Adam now wants all this brought out in the open with a widespread discussion by fans. What action are the VPs considering? One very catchy idea from a member present suggested that fans could put on a show of support for Adam and make a 1000 strong Chain of Protest around the stadium on Monday pre-game; another ,that fans could take pictures of the poor condition of the stadium and post on social media. The committee will, I am sure be sending out further emails to all to begin and expand the debate. Adam was asked about a new stadium and said that some thought has been given to that and some potential sites have been spoken about but £30m is not going to be found overnight. I am sure that I have missed some of the things which were said but the focus is not on fund-raising but spreading the word, and when Adam was asked at the end of the meeting about the team, his mood lifted and he said that the togetherness within the group of players was buoyant and they were training hard and playing well and he was delighted.
“that there is legal action pending and that his lawyers have warned him to be circumspect but he wants the situation to be out in the open.” “he received a demand for £250,000 and these bills keep coming with his expensive London law firm successfully challenging them in court” bullshit
