To be honest all the fans on Dannys back are a bunch of idiots. He is currently are best right back and has cleared at least 5 goals from the goal line this season. All the players have made mistakes not just him. The fact he is freinds with other players that may well leave in the summer won't help either.

Worst chant ever.

There was a suggestion after the Blackburn game that fans were going to start singing Danny Simpson off the line, only sign of a song for him I've heard.

<doh> That's great isn't it, it's sure to boost his confidence and make him play better. Fans? A bunch of bloody idiots if you ask me.

Get behind the players and the team and encourage them, don't knock them and destroy their confidence.

I know a lot of you lads dont like twitter but Danny Simpson has been getting a lot of abuse of some NUFC fans.

Were they at the game? So many people giving him stick when he does anything wrong but not so quick in coming forward with praise when he plays a good game.

He's played through a patch of bad personal circumstances when some people might have taken leave of absence.

I can't say I've ever abused him but I've often found myself yelling in frustration at games both home and away when he's yet again wandering out of position. I'm not going into details again since I'm bored of typing it, but my feelings on Simpson are helpfully sitting in my one and only blog entry (see left) solely to save time. I'd love him to be a top full back, but until he sorts himself out he won't be.

I get the impression that some of the people claiming to be fans, aren't really fans!

There is a type of fan who cannot function without at least one player to perpetually abuse. It's odd because in other respects they canlook very much like a normal, or even good, supporter. They attend games, sing for their team, are knowledgable, decent craic, etc.

But there must always be one player who is, irrespective of the evidence on any given day, complete ****e and the proper subject for quite vile hatred. Shola filled this role for many years. As he doesn't get much game time any more, Simpson seems to be the new target.

Arseholes. Some fans are clueless. I don't mind those who don't rate him, its all opinions, but I dislike those who seem to love nothing better than handicapping there own team.

Hey, internal blog! I'm not Bano!

I sent him a tweet slating him after the Brighton game, regret it now think I may have deleted it 5 minutes later.

My mate (sits next to me at SJP, season ticket holder for years, circled Europe a decade ago. Definitely a fan) sent him some constructive criticism a few times but he ignored those in favour of retweeting people kissing his arse. Happy he's closed his Twitter frankly.

I have a fan who sits near me who is like that who I really want to smack him at times...So it's not just at Newcastle this happens...

Hes absolute gash yet thinks hes special, it's that sort of arrogance that I cannot stand.

Judging from some of his old comments on twitter he thinks hes a top class fullback and I get the impression that he doesn't think he needs to improve his game, how wrong he is.

Having said that I don't agree with people having a massive go at him on twitter etc...

I tweeted him the other day offering him good luck and told him to stay close to his man, not in an abusive manner though.

Spot on. We're all entitled to opinions but why pick rather mercilessly on one of your own players? Is it going to make him play better?
