Moore has done okay but Patterson will be straight back in, when fit

Hes done better than OK imo.

Hasn’t put a foot wrong, conceded two in four games and almost got an assist on Saturday …

… the best reserve for a while and better than some of our recent first choice keepers.

Another smart bit of business and no need to rush Patterson back.

I’ve never been remotely bothered by reserve keepers. Chances are you don’t need them. We had Bass and Bishop and we basically didn’t need them to play at all. We’ve needed a reserve keeper in 4 games over 2.3 seasons. I’m definitely glad that we had Moore when it actually came time, though. Happy he’s the one on the bench. Hopefully he sees a bit of Kate career stability in good money and a path into coaching as a good thing.

SIMON Moore believes that "class" Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson has all the qualities to reach the top.

Moore, who joined the Black Cats in the summer as Patterson's deputy, has been teammates with the likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Dean Henderson and Wojciech Szczesny in the past and believes that Sunderland's No.1 is as good as any of them....

"Patto is right up there (with keepers that I've worked with)," said Moore.

"I've followed him for a while even before I came here and he's class, he pulls off some unbelievable saves. He's underrated with the ball at his feet as well, calm and composed. His handling is excellent, he can without a shadow of a doubt play at the top."

"I'm enjoying working with him" he said.

"I feel like I've already improved working with him. The training is really good and even at 34 I feel like I've improved since I came here, which just goes to show that you never stop learning.

"I think coming up here has just given me that hunger again. I've got the bit between my teeth and I've really enjoyed it.

"I want us to do well, if I can help any of the boys with all the seasons that I've been in the game and the experience that I've gained, I've done my job. Coaching is definitely something I want to go into, but at the moment I'm playing, keeping clean sheets... I'll think about that when the time comes."

Patterson back fit

I think he’ll be straight back in. Well done Moore over the last few weeks
